The diet itself is good in preventing diabetes also since a lot of the time it comes from storing too much fat. Its called atkins diet and its about making your body go into 'ketosis' which is when fat is metabolized instead of carbs. In order to achieve this, do not eat carbs. They are not a dietary essential , so dont worry about any dangers. It sucks though because a lot of yummy foods are carb loaded.
Well I'm genetically prone to diabetes, so I could get it later in life, when I'm about 130 or something. Perhaps the diet will be useful to me someday.
