Jujitsu is what the samurai used to use for close combat and other armored samurai, it could be used with or without their short daggers or swords and also used more joint locks, throws and choke holds. where as aikido was purely a martial arts based thing and was a soft version of Jujitsu its main aim was to take in the consideration of the attackers well being and was mainly joint locks, throws and grappling but it did not use weapons. But both work on the same principle of redirecting the attackers force or momentum against him into a throw or joint lock etc Ninjas used to generally use ninjutsu but that is only a generally bases they used to use a lot of different -jutsu's they all had their different meaning.
I belive Akido and Kendo both use sword fighting unlike Juijtsu. Juijstu is what the ninjas used to use, right?
Lol yeah thats what i used to do watch heaps of anime sword fighting. Yeah well i've been itching to get back into martial arts i wasn't sure if i should do Aikido, Jujitsu or Kendo. Both Aikido and Jujitsu have pretty much the same principles but i think one is a bit more softer than the other.
Sweet, I have always wanted to try Kendo but there arn't any teachers around here. I just kinda gheto copy any sword styles I have seen on TV, Like fighting like Sephiroth or like Knights.
