Were they trying to draw out the darkness again? Nova loses control and destroys his former home. After his blackout, he meets with the party and joins them, got it. Those are good attributes. I see. My character's basic backstory Nova was born from a tribe of magic users as it's their practise. Within all this, he had a mother and a father that left which was customary to their place of worship. This was to symbolise their marriage. They never returned and left Nova with the village elder. He trained and specialise in the skills of fire because it was his family's crest. Every family was assigned a different element in which to specialise in. One day, the village is overrun with monsters due to familiar summoning gone wrong and Nova is put to the test. The elder finds a power dwelling with Nova and it's darkness. Nova is engulfed by the creatures as he loses all control and is lost. When he awakes, he finds himself and the village empty. The elder had all the families give a sample of their power to Nova and allowed him to learn all different elements as well as feeding the darkness within him. Nova goes into a fiery rage from this overload and destroys the village leaving it in ruins and blacking out somewhere within the sacred forest. He wakes up once again to find himself in the company of Elyon and the others and you sensed my dark power. Your character's current lifestyle and attitude He is extremely kind and he willingly puts himself at risk to help others, taking on any challenge that confronts him without hesitation. He especially loves to have fun and finds that beating the crap out of angels extremely appealing. He's a thrill-seeker and an adrenaline junkie. If there's no fun in the situation, he probably needs to be bribed into doing anything. Your character's treatment of others He likes to keep his friends on his good side. He'll always be warm and uplifting, even in times of grief and dismay. He likes to brighten up any situation in order to make everyone feel well. He'll always boost the team's morale with witty comments and funny gestures. He's cautious of people that he doesn't know, always keeping an eye on them and eavesdropping on what they do until he trusts them fully. He'll always throw insults at the enemy and basically ignore what they have to say. He won't allow them to have a change of heart because he believes that anything that is tainted, remains tainted. Your character's view of the world He loves to explore and finds that everyday is a new day to try new things. He'll always urge Ralz and Mei to go on adventures with him to some cave or labyrinth for "recon". This, of course, is an excuse. He likes to look at the world in a positive light and likes to think that one day, the world will balance itself out. He likes to daydream about how he can change things and likes to motivate the people closest to him. Your character's potential conflicts I feel that there maybe a point where hope is lost for Nova. I know this is an overused cliché but I just feel that he may need to get over his selfishness with needed thrills while fighting and actually help the ones he cares about without a motive. He also needs to harness the darkness inside him and fight his inner demons, so to speak. Which is yet another cliché but can you help that with an RPG? Finally, your character's motivations Fighting for his past and trying to repay what he's done in it is one of his most powerful motivations. As well as the disappearance of his parents and the state of what the team is in. If his friends are happy, he is happy and will increase in strength as a result. If there is adventure to find or excitement to seek, he'll be on this scene. I hope that'll at least help you. I'd write more but it's rather late. I'll come up with more originality later. >_>
