  1. Well then you could vote for me and me and me and me in those awards.

You get what you want in your life? What is your secret!? I've not gotten that in forever.

My life is on a good path right now. I'm hoping my midterms come back with good scores. I am fairly confident that I did quite well, but I guess I'll find out soon enough.
  2. Oh, okay. xD I didn't want to vote for anyone in these Bogus Awards.. .-. I think I still don't know many users, so I wouldn't know who to vote for. (Except for yooou~ of course )

I'm super-fine. ^^ I get pretty much what I want in my life. XD I hope it'll be like that forever. xD
    How about you, biggest fanboy?
  3. Biggest Fanboy and if you could put a vote in for myself and Hyz as the Couple Most Likely to Make Superhuman Babies, I'd be okay with that too.

And good catch. How have you been?
  4. Today I finally remembered that I wanted to tell you one thing: We spoke about the differences between FFI for SNES and FFI for GBA. I've another one for you. I remember you told me there was no Cid in FFI - yet he WAS mentioned in the GBA version. You didn't see him, it was just - as usual - that he invented the air ships. xD"
Besides, in FFII he actually is there - in Poft. When you want to fly with an airship, you have to talk to a guy called Cid. Was it like that in the SNES version, too?

Oh and btw... I'd really like to vote for you... but WHERE?! XD
  5. Hehe, I'll keep in mind that you're an old skooler ;3

I know what you mean, I also tend to learn games through hard mode. But when I play the games for the FIRST TIME EVER, I tend to play in easy mode ^^" Just to know what the game is like.
I also just play every game once, there are too many games so I can't spend my time replaying one << >> But I rather choose medium mode. xP Though, it's been long since I've played a game with difficulty levels for the last time... (Except singstar xD")
  6. If ever curiosity gets the better of you, then you know where to turn to with questions! I'm here to share my knowledge of all that is old skool.

Easy mode is for sissies who whore themselves to graphics and gore. Plain and simple.

And I find it easier to learn a game on a higher difficulty and struggle to learn it along the way than to master it at its easiest and then try to make that transition to the next difficulty.

Plus there are many games I play through only once. Who would want to claim beating it on Easy only?
  7. I think I don't want to know all those games, I suppose I've never heard of them. xD

Hehe, I also wouldn't start in easy mode. ^^ I normally play the games in medium mode. Except for games like Guitar Hero or SingStar. I only switch to hard mode if I've mastered easy mode. Those games are just f-ing hard in hard mode. xD"
  8. I could recommend you games that would blow you away with the difficulty. OoT was great but hardly a challenge.

Then again, most games are easier in comparison. Maybe I'm just biased. I am also one of those who will never EVER play a game through on Easy. If there is a difficulty mode, I start one notch above that on my first run through. Made mastering Guitar Hero interesting.
  9. I could look it up... yet I'm too lazy at the moment, sorry. xP But it seems as if it stayed the same in the GBA version ^^

Zelda II is quite a big challenge. .,." But I've the feeling all the "old" games are. It was much easier to beat Zelda's OoT - I wasn't stuck at the beginning, at least. xP When I've enough motivation, I'll try Zelda II again. But right now I just want to complete all FFs x3"
  10. Level 5 spell, which is in Melmond if I am correct in my recollection. I've been wrong before, though.I may be getting it mixed up with EXIT, which I think is a Level 6 spell. Not sure.

Zelda II is certainly from its own unique strand as far as the Zelda series goes, and is worth a thorough playthrough in my opinion. Getting lost will happen, as it isn't necessarily completely clear with the hints from townspeople. It certainly presents a challenge, though, and I couldn't beat the game until a few years ago. It is that tough.
  11. I bought Zelda II for Wii once, but never really played it. I was quite confused because of the fighting system - and, as usual, I didn't find where I had to go, that's why I'm still stuck at the beginning. ^^" But I liked how it was different from all the other Zelda-games.

When do you get Life in the NES version? Oo In the GBA version it's a lvl 4 or 5 spell... oo
  12. Great game to have grown up with. I am personally fond of Zelda II: Adventures of Link. Most didn't like it because it very much brought in a few RPG elements, but I absolutely loved it.

Tents and Cottages, yes, but no Phoenix Downs. You have that House to revive in, and late in the game you get LIFE as a spell.
  13. Hah, you summarized that perfectly. Exactly what I think. Yet, when I once played VIII and my brother came into my room, he stated: "THIS is Final Fantasy? I thought it had better graphics..." - He still refuses to try the game, but I don't know why.
When my mother came into my room when I was playing FFIV she thought that the graphics were sweet. :3
I think kids nowadays are just spoiled with those great graphics. I like the old games much more. Perhaps that's because I grew up with Zelda's "A Link to the Past" ^^"

No Ethers? Then, did it contain Tents and Cottages? oo And Phoenix Downs? There were none, were there? I somehow got the feeling the Phoenix Downs didn't belong to the game because there was this... house in every town in which you can revive your character. (What's this called? XD")
  14. I think I summarized it best in this part of my lengthy post for "Most Underrated FF":

Your entire post lost any credibility as soon as I saw that as part of your defense of VIII. Graphics do not make a game superior, unless in one of the games you are referring to had graphics so bad that it was beyond playable. And there isn't a Final Fantasy game that had that problem. Aesthetics do not constitute superiority in a game. End of discussion.

Way too many people drop that graphics line these days. At which point their entire debate is null and void in my eyes. Pictures do not constitute a great game: storyline, characters, and gameplay does. But I sense you already understand that.

No summons, no Cid, and no Ethers in the original. You could carry 99 potions, each one curing 25-50 HP (random amount, same with Cure spells). So much more challenging, and I love me a good challenge. Which is how Seiken Densetsu III captured my heart. Too bad it still is Japan only.
  15. I don't know if kids these days like challenges, but I suppose they just want to beat the crap out of the bosses. And I really can't imagine them playing an old game like FFI. Look at the graphic, dude, that's just baaad! >_o I mean, they'd rather play FFXII - better graphic, means it has a better story and better gameplay. (Hope all my sarcasm reached you know xD")

That magic system would've been perfect for me. I also don't use spells that much in caves and save all my MPs for the boss. Though I've 99 Ethers in my inventory. xD" But it's no fun at all if you blast your best spell at some wolves.
Btw. no summons in FFI I suppose? And no Cid? xD" At least I haven't met one yet.
