It is true that season zero is quite a bit darker and deals less with the whole duel monsters game. But you take things where you want and don't think too much about if it has to be linked or not.
I guess that's true. A busy person like yourself would surely know. A chapter every week of Shift doesn't sound so bad, either. I actually pushed myself to finish Chapter 2. You'll find it edited in my blog entry and the thread I made. And also, while I did get the idea of a chapter preview from you (The Inner man to be more specific), Phantasy Star Universe pretty much gave me a push to go through with it. And with different things happening along the way, it'll probably be one of the few things I'd be motivated to write every time. Some characters may not interact as much in the main story, for example, so I could do it during a chapter preview. And from the looks of it, I'm inclined to believe it is already in a category of its own. it may be a fan fic based on Yu-Gi-Oh, but I want it to be based more on the card game than the anime. I plan to make that reference to Yugi Muto to be the only reference from the anime series. I may go as far as to make it PG-13, as Season 0 of the anime was perhaps in the same rating as well. You would understand if you watched it or read the first volumes of the manga.
There's probably another less motivated person than you. You actually wrote something, some will say that they want to do something, but never end up doing it. You did something, so that easily puts you further ahead than others.
Oh, yes. I'm more at ease when I'm off. On a work day I feel more pressure due to the time limit I give myself before turning in. Hardly anything pushes me. I'm starting to fear I may be the least motivated person I know ._.
Relaxing is good. Always plenty to do. Motivation is something you have to figure out. You have to find something that truly pushes you. Which means understanding yourself a little. Once you know what motivates you the rest will come in time.
I may read everything later tonight. Right now, I just want to relax and perhaps even write a little. So much to do later ^^ Given all I had planned and perhaps all the praise I could get from it in the future, I thought it would be motivation enough. I guess not >.>'
They should both be pretty likeable, though Yori being how he is at times can make Yumi a little more easier to like, but he warms up. You got Haruo's sub-arc next though which should be interesting for you. Rewriting takes as much effort as writing, since you still have to write. You just already know what is happening. But you still have to rely on motivation.
I really like both siblings so I feel sorry for Yumi as well, especially now that they're facing problems of their own. I could do that, or I could play more games than usual ;p I have plenty of time and plenty to write, but sometimes the willpower's not enough. Rewriting it has turned out to be harder than I thought it would be but I can do it.
You hit the siblings sub-arc then. Yeah, the way he learns about it is pretty rough, but I like the way he confronts it. It shows a lot of his character. The sub-arc is more about Yori then Yumi, since she already had one, but their story is really interesting to follow. Tomorrow and the next off huh? I guess that means you can read plenty of Shift then. ;p Well sometimes you just have to sit down and start writing something. Even if it is not what you want it can be enough to get you started.
Then you won't have problems keeping things exciting. I have just read Chapter 73 and now I've read how Yori found out about his father's affair. I just can't help but feel sorry for him. I just wish I had the strength and energy to write it all quickly as I have a feeling it may take a while at this rate. But at least I have tomorrow and the day after off so that'll help.
Considering what is happening in the second arc, people shouldn't get too bored with things. Each fight is quite a bit different from the next. There is almost something interesting and new popping up. That has been the goal. Developing your characters is a good thing to do. A strongly developed character is always better than dozens of empty ones.
I understand. So the number of possibilities narrows down quite a bit. But at least you plan to make him more variable in the second arc. People tend to get bored when things get too repetitive. Yup. I even have ways to develop each character and give them more screen time than usual. Perhaps one of my mistakes may have been everything falling into place too fast but at least I'm just beginning.
Well it is more a case of Yuki has established himself a style to use in fighting. So with a style determined it is going to be less variable what he ends up doing. There are some new skills he is going to learn during the second arc that will make him more variable again, but I'm not there yet. So there's that as well. That's good you using time to think up stuff. I think about my stories going to work quite a lot too.
It's that Pokemon Online game I downloaded, it's kept me busy and it's pretty addicting. At least I've been able to come up with new ideas and a potential story arc for my story while I go to work. So giving myself more time may be a good thing, but I won't overdo it >_> At least the possibilities are almost limitless. It may not be easy as you said, but it's only until the next crazy thing comes to mind. Of course, after getting close to 180 chapters, I can see why it can be more difficult as time passes ^^;
Focusing on a game huh? Games do tend to do that a lot. Yeah, his imagination is a key and something that I try to take advantage of as much as I can. It is not always easy and I have to pick my times when I do. But it a constant source of things I can play with for him.
