Hmmm... Good question. I suppose the movies are soooo good that the sheer awesomeness of the films' animation get projected into my brains. That doesn't explain anything else though, like how I'm typing this VM to you with little to no spelling errors.

Nope. I just get caught up in some of the other films. I hear good things about Nausicaa though. Yeah, I was really tired when I started on Laputa, and it didn't get the full attention that it deserved, so I'm probably going to start that one over again. I haven't seen any clips or previews about Earthsea, but I read up a bit on it. I'll check that one out when it hits US shores. Ponyo wasn't my favorite either, but I still enjoyed it. It was just a nice little take on The Little Mermaid fairytale. I don't think I could really pick a favorite though. I love all the Studio Ghibli movies I've seen in some way or another. Maybe I'm one of those blind fangirls??? That's alright with me!
You haven't seen Nausicaa from Studio Ghibli yet? And you must must must finish Laputa - it was great. The old guy, in the mines, design reminded a bit of Cid Haze (FFIII). I saw Ponyo in theaters and I felt it lack some of the adventurous magic that precious Miyazaki films had. It seemed a bit too short and that there wasn't a big story overall. It was ok but not a favourite of mine. I'm looking forward to the Tales of Earthsea movie by Miyazaki's son.
