I'd say they laugh at conservative America. That's why I like them so. I'm not a fan of House however. Hugh Laurie pisses me off.
I love how shows like The Simpsons and Family Guy laugh with conservative America. And they're on FOX. House is on there too. And it's actually good, hehe.
That Simpsons thing is pretty good. It's not really for or against Republicans. Or not explicitely.
We have your Bachelor's Degree, which may take three or four years, and then you can opt to take an 'Honours Year', which is just like another year of your Bachelor's degree, though is technically postgraduate. So you'd have a "BA (Hons)" in something. That's optional, but the next logical step is Masters, which is a dissertation. It usually takes a year, but you can take as long as you want. Then is PhD. I actually don't know what one has to do for that. I want to take Honours at least, me thinks.
What's Honours? Is that like a Phd? And we have Bachelor papers and when you graduate at the end of your Master a term paper. So at the end of the third year you write a dissertation. And at the end of the fifth year you right a huge one.
Have you seen this? The Simpsons - an amendment to be Well Masters is a 40,000 dissertation, so yes, I'd much prefer that, though those 40,000 words don't write themselves. Honours is bs though. More exams, but at a higher level, with more essays.
Yeah, we have waaay to little grades for essay assignment. Some part of the total grade for two classes is based on an essay, or three of them. I had such a romantic image of University. It gets better when you start your Master I think though.
And exams solely consisting of Mutiple Choice questions are absolutely ridiculous.
Exams are memory tests, and measure how much one can write in 3 hours. Essays test ability to research, read, think critically, and explain concisely.
Yeah. It's a petty sometimes. Even the most interesting classes and professors give ****ed up exams. I think they want you to earn your grade, not just prove that you've studied enough.
