Well, I made it so they don't know everything, but aren't restricted to a single selection of abilities. This way, all the characters can be more useful in situations that demand strategy. Besides, I was planning on the debuffs to characters not natural to them being learned after level 50. I wanna take the Final Fantasy XIII approach. For most of the game, they have their base abilities, but at a certain point, they break away to learn more stuff, although, in the end, they can't learn everything. 15-20, huh? With 8 weapon types, that's about 120-160 weapons! O_o Should I go with the easy route of Weapon II, Weapon III? I doubt I can avoid copyright for something like that... But I'll sure try. I can make single and multi target versions of the spells. Of course, then they'll only have two tiers, instead of three. But, because of the two needs, it'll technically be four. Fortunately, this only applies to the elemental spells. I made everything else single or multi target. You're right. It's been a long road, and we're not finished yet!
The new moveset is quite good, With new abilities of the like, But... Well, Now it feels like they know everything... But, Worry not! I will take things from here! I'll try and combine both the old and new set adding alittle of my own ideas if i stumble apon them! Don't worry, I'll make sure it's balanced. You might wanna think out more of the Plot and of each characters weapons they should have, I've being thinking that you can upgrade an old weapon to a maximum of 5 times in a Synthesis shop. That is, Like we say Elyon has a Greatsword, We have the Recipe, Improved Blade, We have the components, And the Greatsword will become an Greatsword II, With slightly better stats. You can even decide that upgraded weapon will get new effects on themselves if you feel like it, Remember... Each character should have up to 15-20 weapons available to themselves. Including all weapons, Except enemy ones of course. I've also tried the script which allows characters to either Target Multi or Single with their spells, But alas... It's some mortal bug hindering me, So it's possible that i might not be able to use the script... But im still trying, And well... Meigumi is going to busy at exam, So she would be working so much in a while, Not that i blame her, But shes having her life. Well, Godspeed to you Ralz, We still have much to do.
Cracker jacks. 8( That's about all I had in mind. I could discuss field gameplay stuff, but we can save that for later.
Typically, No... It only works with melee, But it's probably possible with scripting... Which... I don't excel in, Sorry for that, But it's not possible. Anything else you might want to share speaking?
Is it possible to have a magic berserk? Like, a character's RUN stat is boosted, but all they do is cast spells relentlessly. Like they're on permanent Spellfling mode. Is that possible? Could be interesting for something I have in mind for Krysta. Well, it's not permanent of course, but just generally speaking. Would it be possible to force the computer to use only spells in a character's given rune pool?
When I read the list, now I know why I started nerfing. These moves are just too OP. Not to mention their animations take FOREVER, so a lot less hits make a battle go quicker. And about Meigumi, I needed to have her focus on healing. Like you said, that's her main role. The only real opportunity you can take advantage of that is when fighting vanilla enemies. But the moves I gave her are powerful and worth it. After all, why have a bunch of useless abilities, when you can have a few great ones? Laevateinn's entire moveset might be changed. He's way too much like Kain. And his jump attacks will involve him only from now on. I'm not sure where else to take Elyon's moveset. I think I've covered a lot of ground. He takes advantage of four differing elements, has useful healing, and his attacks can pretty much work for any situation. I don't really see how he's not versatile enough... Unless you want some piercing moves, or something. Also, I nerfed Meigumi's Overlimits. Gift of the Goddess is WAY OP. Now, it only offers magic reflect. I would also like to add some kind of drawback to these invincibility OLs. Perhaps disable OLs of the other characters, or stun Meigumi, or something. The physical aspect is covered by Invictus, a new OL. It would have the same drawback, or maybe an even more punishing one. I don't think I could add more abilities, really. It seems solid to me. Alther's list might change a bit, though I kinda liked his HP sacrifice gimmick and summoning crazy powers. The gun adds a unique factor. A dark knight who uses gunz? Yes, please! Nova is pretty good, and I've started to add that last-turn priority you had in the demo. It COULD have a use. I'll show you the list I've completed thus far later. Maybe tonight if I hurry.
Dammit, This was harder than i thought, I couldn't even get a good name, It really is best to leave this to your hands... But be sure to send them later along with the others. I have problems with my inspiration right now, So i cannot possibly scram out something good from my brain right in the moment. But i will see if i can do something with the script, Good luck then.
Well then, I'll send over it soon then... I just gotta eat and think up a few moves, But don't expect it to be much as my inspiration is horribly crippled due to way-to-less games that i play. I can't break and remodel skill ideas so well, But it's your job to finalize the skills to make them sound AND look more interesting. I'll be right back.
Its been a rough month to be sure, with all the depressing weather, failed end of the world predictions and seemingly endless writer's block. I am mainly nerfing attacks so they don't hit as much. I currently think the Overlimit system is horribly broken, so I'm nerfing it. In exchange, the charge rate should be increased, even for basic attacks. Its not a tide turner, really. I can come up with some more attacks for characters. For Alther, I'm not sure where else to take his moveset, except involving blasting stuff. Oh, he's carrying one gun. Julius is the one who dualwields, now. Sazh was barely able to make dual handguns work, but Alther's wielding a more personal handgun. When it came to the uniqueness of attacks, I was worried if they would have too many hits or just be too powerful, even more than the Overlimits, so I kinda stuck to a single formula. I suppose I could go back and rebuff the moves I nerfed. (Like, seriously, I took out half the moveset, and the ones that are still there have have the hits, if not less.) If you could, I'd like to hear some ideas of yours, specifically with Elyon. I could just make more attacks that tackle elemental weaknesses or are flashy. Of course, if it comes down to it, I can really recreate the entire list. It's not hard to start over.
I can't promise to enable spells having Multi-target and single target propterties, Though that the script for it exist, I might make conflict to the others scripts... So... I can't say if i will be enabled to include it, But i'll of course see what i can do. So... You are working to nerf some skills further or something? You can feel free of doing so since i haven't worked on them just yet, Since im getting busy with life, And praying for a better computer. So feel free to tackle the time left nerfing and boosting and even replace or add more abilities to characters movesets, I'd be glad to have more moves, As Elyon's physical skillset in my eyes looked a bit dry in uniqueness. Mainly the skills, Quint Wake, Holy Gates and Lightspeed Strike are the ones to bother me, I want Elyon to be alittle more of an beastly character in terms of physical moves in excuse of his glamourful deadly greatsword mastery to make performance. Moves such as the Dragon Sword in his list is promising to inflict heavy damage to elemental foes, Then again, His movelist is in dire need of alittle more tactics told of his Versatile role in the game. Alther's skillset seem to still have some parts of moves from his old set... But since he's carrying two guns now, Moves such as V-Strike, X-Strike, Volcano Aerial and Raijinken are just plain horribly boring skills to be carrying an gun, Besides... Moves that strikes enemies in V or X arcs are immensely unoriginal. Meigumi's physical set lacks of moves, Though that she REALLY is only MEANT for HEALING, She deserves to punish foes a tiny weensy better. Ralz's skillset is alright, But i think he only limits himself by having directly barely useful moves, His attacks is by i mean, Barely elemental in exception of Liquefaction and Aeroslicer. Nova's moves are fine and i currently doesn't see any problematic issues getting in the way... But something tells me that he's a bit of a lackluster. Of course, There's some moves in here which i cannot do, Mainly Laevateinn's Ultimate Jump. Secondly, I always feels like someone has an tempting feeling of jumping into the air and throwing random stuff on enemies from there. Well, I am working on the project whenever the situations really demands it, Because... I cannot really continue on the project until the sprites are ready, They are far from done. But i will take time on this someday, I'll just have to relax and try to make things in my life take steady steps, As im quite stressed if my Dad will successfully gain a job or that i will recieve an new computer at the end of this summer. I cannot garantue.
We can't have magic toggable between single and multi target, can we? It's either one or the other. Just need to confirm this. Also, nerfs are happening to the Moveset already. In terms of the script, I'm just past the defeat of M and the journey to Ancient Orderos starts. I've also been creating item lists and a bestiary of sorts. I'll wait for the next version of the demo before finalizing anything.
Does that mean you're also properly buffing and nerfing the characters as I have specified? That's good. In terms of the plot, I'm up to our first arrival at Archados. I've had to rewrite many times.
Hey! How's things going for you? I will soon release a new improved version of the game! More areas, enemies and skills as included! When i say skills, Some of your moves will be there, But im still working on them.
I wanna say it's "bare" but I'm not sure. In other news, I've reached the soulbind temple in the script.
Bear with it.
