Speaking of mother issues, it's obvious Cosmo was never properly weaned because when he drinks he will dunk his face in the water and lap it up off of his face instead of the normal tongue-flick style every other animal does while drinking
Your cat needs extra hugs is all. Serious, when you set the bowl in from of him next time, scratch his neck behind his/her whiskers This will completely mellow your cat out and worst case scenario, he'll have you trained to come scratch him on his neck when he eats. It will get better. The female cat(precious) actually trained me to do this for her every meal, and both the other cats just viewed it as a luxury. They were startled at first but eventually it makes them melt in your hand and somehow they purr ferociously while eating. Oddly my cat now(Cosmo) likes it, not a big deal for him cause he just meows like crazy in different tones while I'm dishing up his food and he has this distinct meow letting me me he's hungry until we get to his room. It can frustrate some people but I see it as the time to talk to him normally in a calm manner. At least cats aren't as emotionally shallow as dogs.
I suppose you could be right on the "he wants something" supposition, but mostly he just sits there yowling at me. I actually have to put his bowl right in front of his face, because he won't move a couple extra inches. Not that I mind, I'm just not used to the fussiness. All my other cats are perfectly content to run to their food. I guess with his long beautiful tail he thinks he's worth special attention. I really don't know where he gets it, his mother was a stray and she won't eat food unless it's poured on the floor.
As far as the whining goes, he might have been trying to communicate. Like when a cat cackles or makes the ticking sound if they see a bird or bug, they're trying to communicate with it to lure it in as a form of intimidation and distraction so they can creep in closer for the kill. Also I had two cat's that never made a peep, they always had everything they ever needed. The male lived for 21 human years. I have a cat now "Cosmo" he was abandoned as a kitten and kept meowing at me when I left for high-school during the winter times because he was all alone in the freezing cold. We took him in and today 13 years later he still love to meow or whine all the time each meow has a different meaning . Different meows if he wants outside, play, food, or just entering a room and wants to say 'Hi' or cuddle. This cat definitely has a huge appreciation for life and his loved one's and it's obvious to see through his communication. I'm not saying my older cats didn't have an appreciation but maybe the other cat meow's all the time because maybe we take for granted what we've got until we've lost everything and have had to start from zero.
well, yeah, his dying wasn't normal, of course. I'm not really sure what happened. One day they were fine, the next they were sick. There were three kittens, two of them died that day. The last one survived. He's a really whiny creature. Of course the mother was pretty weak. Maybe that had something to do with it...
Cat's with extra digits must be common cause I see and hear of it all so often, and they are all healthy in the paw department. But a little kitten dieing isn't normal... what happened to him?
Would you really? Thanks for that. I enjoy new rapports, I'm gonna send you a friend request. Thanks on the cat. I was unsure which pic I should've selected. And I was curious if that would even work at all. Oooo, coincidentally, I knew a kitten who had an extra digit on his little black paw. He died, but the vet said the extra claw was perfectly healthy.
Hey I just realized you could read peoples thanks or else I would have built up raport with you a lot sooner. Thanks for the support, that's kind of you.. Great bearded Zeus! That cat on ur avatar almost looks like it has an extra toe, but it is prolly just where his claws is.. not the weirdest thing but it looks like he's refraining from laughing so that is a bonus 2 stars. I once saw a cat with 3 toes on it's wrist where they normally just have the one. Why do cats have a 6th digit on their wrist? The world may never know...
