Honestly, I'm pretty bad with textures. I tried and I've tried, and nada. Buuut, in the Photoshop I'm using, there's a couple of good pre-made textures and filters which can be used for just about anything really. One really good thing is that each time you use them, it comes up randomly each time. It just takes time and experimenting with what works for you. So for a paper texture... the sandpaper texture works well for me. Then depending on the colours you want for it, there's an enhance area where you can adjust the colours, hue, saturation, etc. Turn the saturation down, and viola, a piece of white paper texture. There's one for glass too, but it doesn't look great lol. Also, because I'm using an old, free version, I don't have the effects and tools that would come in handy. Sorry I'm not being much help. ;-;
Gemmaaaaa I'm a noob when it comes to functioning photo imaging programs I'm still getting used to it but I'm trying to start doing digital art since it can pretty much feel like working with canvas anyway. I'm trying to make everything I use from scratch textures, patterns etc. SO....right now I'm trying to figure out the best way to create a paper texture. I have no idea what technique or tools to use lol. I don't care if I end up using an crinkled or lined paper or what. I'm open since I'm not completely sure what I'm doing for the whole thing yet I just have it in my head. I started part of it but yeah. Also any idea how I would go about giving the effect of cracked glass? @_@ hahaha. I need to take a goshdamn digital imaging class again since my teacher was a goob.

This is my home Forum now, I wouldn't want to go anywhere else =p I don't even check the other Forums anymore, I stopped going to them like almost two years ago. As soon as I joined here, I went back and deleted all of the information and what not from the others, and those were ones I found in like 9th or 10th grade XD
Every other forum I'm a part of I'm pretty much dead on lol. I've joined Square, some Evanescence one, and the Theory of a Deadman Boards. I'm also on Sheena's forum at Succubus Valley. One or two people might remember me from the TOAD forums, but that's it. The others, one or two people from here is there. I can't get "into" other forums. I wouldn't know where to start really. I know what my interests are, but there is always someone here to discuss them with if you get what I mean? I don't need anywhere else to spread my love/terror. Lol. xD I take it by the "was" you're a lurker/don't go to those places any more?

Haha, it's usually a good way to learn. I don't like it when someone tries to talk you through the steps of something when learning - I think it's better when you learn from your own mistakes by having an... adventure of the tools lol. xD;
haha yeah I had no Idea what that was, looked cool though, I'm so computer illiterate -_-! I'm sure I'll learn eventually... I learn better when I play with things on my own, like Adobe Illustrator for example. haha
