Happy Birthday! Hope you have a good one.
You can watch videos of them both already.
I didn't claim it was, I was hoping it would be somewhat similar to Cris Core though. Well then, let's hope battles wont be hectic, and better camera system in narrow corridors.
DMC is more of a Precise Button pressing game. Yes you can mash your way through it all but it's way easier to learn when to press each attack at the right time. Versus is nothing like Crisis Core, it's Kingdom Hearts style, the new PSP FF game is Crisis Core style.
As far as I remember you could beat Oblivion pretty much on lvl 1, the opponents were on the same lvl as you, though I might be wrong. I've beaten the game on lvl 7 I think, while on the other hand my brother did it on lvl 24 and had harder time doing it. I know you had to level up until you have good enough stats to beat the game, but still, final Fantasy II had a leveling system before it's time, a realistic one, though not developed enough like in Oblivion of course.
The thing with Oblivion though is you can still do wonders in that game if you screw up the leveling, you can underlevel as well. FFII was just harder because the farther you got, the better you had to make you characters. You couldn't just stop leveling up to make everything easier or even lower the difficulty.
Props man, I for once wouldn't have the nerves for it. I couldn't wait to finish Final Fantasy XII, so I began the lvl. 1 challenge, I've already reached Lindbum, except for few re-loads I had to do the only real obstacle was Black Waltz no 2., though he has also fallen after second or third try. You also forgot to mention one segment you need to rely on in Final Fantasy IX, luck, something that's always welcome in these sort of challenges.
I've never done FFXII challenges lol. I tried no LP Board but I got bored. Yeah it is possible, you just have to practice the tricks the guy shows you on youtube videos. Even with his help from videos it's a very hard thing to do. FFIX isn't that tough, just need the right items and abilities equipped.
What the...I just saw a huge list of things you're not supposed to do or use, you're telling me it's possible to beat OOT in such manner. You must have an enormous patience and nerves of steel, I lost my nerves playing Link's Awakening with few handicaps, but this is way more extreme. I've gone through some videos on Youtube today, I think I'm gonna do a lvl 1. challenge, I'm feeling like doing it right now, but first I have to finish Final Fantasy XII. Since you've already familiar with all these challenges you might expect a question or two if I get stuck, and I know I will.
It's not really a combo, it is more of an exploit but if you are trying to beat the game the fastest, without actually skipping anything, it's not a big deal. Check out the UBERCHALLENGE on gamefaqs.com. I'm still trying the hardest thing to do in the challenge.
I know a lot about FFIX, it's my FF game.
I honestly didn't know about that combo in OOT, sounds useful. I think I'll do Final Fantasy IX speed run first since I'm more familiar with that game, I also consider a lvl 1. playthrough challenge, but well see about that. Thanks for the tips, I'm sure I can make a quite good use of them.
Well there is a secret for damaging max dmg very quick. The jump slash attack which is the strongest attack in the game. Well here is a secret, you know the jab attack from holding your shield down? Well that attack does the same amount of dmg from your previous attack. So you jump slash and then crouch jab and you can kill a boss really really fast. I don't know how many times it took me to Master it. All I did was play OOT after school unless I was out and about playing with my friends and what not. The FFIX run is very simple, you just have to have a lot of patience with restarting the save file to get the least amount of random battles. Plus knowing to wear and what abilities to have for each boss makes it way way way easier. And also knowing where to find or obtain certain things at certain times in the game. Like the 10,000 gil for pleasing the Queen and 100 out of 100 Nobles at the fight scene because you have to skip the Festival of the Hunt.
Beating a boss in 30 seconds, you must have some amazing reflexes. These speed runs are really something, when I think it can't be done usually Youtube proves me wrong. So how many times did it take to master it, you've also beaten Final Fantasy IX in really short time if I remember correct, I was wondering cause I might try a speed run myself.
When you figure out all the shortcuts and fastest ways to do certain things in OOT, especially beating a boss in under 30 seconds. You tend to beat it fast lol. The fastest time ever is like 3 hours and 30 minutes.
