I haven't played the first two Fallout games much myself. I own them, but when they came out I was into swords and sorcery more than guns and gouls, so I passed. Too bad.

I'll say what I said to Govinda: take any eye openings that Jung Chang reveals with a grain of salt. If her biography of Mao is any indication of her usual style of research, she twists facts and actually manages to make some stuff up.
I second the notion that you should read "Wild Swans." I read it back in 2006 for a class, and it really opened my eyes.
