  1. We need someone with a huge moustache too.
  2. I think it needs a banner advertisement. Seeing as we're filthy Commies.
  3. Same here.
  4. HAHA I love the group. I wonder how many won't see it as a piss take?
  5. I made a new group.

It is going to be fun.
  6. I really disagree with you. But I see where it's coming from.

We live in huge societies. It's hard to make life fair for everyone. All we can do to help the poor and let the rich be rich is make socialist inspired laws.

Besides, there's always going to be more talented, intelligent, lucky people in every free society.

I'd say freedom is too high a price to pay for eliminating the possibility of poverty.

Which doesn't mean we should stop trying to make the world a better place for everyone. But the problems we're facing in our society are peanuts compared to some regions in the world.

But yeah, I know what you mean. Life's a bitch to some people, all we can do is make sure everyone is being taken care of, has health insurance, is backed by their government and can choose who's in charge in their country.

Europe is a sweet place to live, compared to the US. And I'm not even talking about all the war and aids in the world.

And as much as I hate to admit that you're more leftist than I am, I think you're right.
  7. I think it would be fair to say that while we are both leftist liberals, you're more liberal, and I'm more leftist?

And it's not always the case that people "work for" the privilege of being rich. More often that not, it's just circumstance; which family one is born into, etc. It is poor people who are working harder for less money, and who have greater needs. That is fundamentally unfair, and the point I'm making is that progressive taxation needs to be extended. I don't wish for communes, but I do wish that rich people stopped being so damn conservative of their own wealth, and spread it 'round a lot more..
  8. I'm glad you realise you're being a communist here.

But society should be fair. Not shared property. From the moment you have a free society, you're gonna get people who are more wealthy than other people. And their kids will have a better future etc.
But you can't reset society every few generations. That's just not fair.

I'm a socialist, but I don't have a problem with people doing what they want to earn money. They're working for it. And if they're so selfish to not support any charities or anything, that's harsh, but it's their choice...
  9. Of course that's their right, but at what cost? So many people can barely afford shelter, and then you walk past multi-million dollar houses, and think how many people's lives could be made better if that person merely accepted a slightly less comfortable existence? I'm not advocating communism (though I'll admit I'm somewhat swayed in that direction - just not the location), but levels of inequality just seem so unfair.
  10. I respect your opinion and your view on how society should earn money etc.

But you should respect their opinions too though. Some people simply work/live for money to spend... That's their right.
  11. I think money is important insofar as it is neccessary. I look at millionaires and just think 'why'? Like our multi-millionaire (right wing) Prime Minister, who once joked that he was going to dig up his tennis court to grow vegetables on it (because of rising prices of vegetables and fruit), which I find just disgusting, when people were really struggling to afford nutritious food.

I'd like just to earn a comfortable salary. And to anyone who says that ridiculous levels of pay are needed for 'incentive', what ever happened to people doing jobs for the shear joy of doing them? When I think of my future, I think of this. Minus the Southerners.
  12. I don't care about money. I care about being able to live independently and being able to do the things you enjoy. Money is important. But not because 'it is money'.
And being rich would be nice. But I wouldn't buy excentric stuff. Maybe art.
But for the most part I'd spend it on charities and doing things. Travelling etc.
  13. My turn to ask a question.

Do you care about earning money? Like, do you want to earn $1,000,000, or would you be happy with an average salary? Moreover, would you avoid earning a very large sum of money?
  14. But something is pretty much art, the moment someone pulls it out of its context and says it's art. Which is stupid in a way, but it also proves what a diverse term it is. Which is why it's art..

Readymades and stuff. That shit has been pretty popular in the modern age.
  15. I guess what I meant was that you should be sceptic. Rethinking your own ideologies, theowing them away to then find them again is one step closer to being right. But being too sceptical can be exhausting though.

And that's what I meant with the drinking cup. It's not art when there's not at least an incentive to make something arty. It's like those old Coca-Cola posters. They're widely popular now. But it's not art. It's just a product being sold because it appeals to people.
