I think it's easier just to avoid saying it altogether and just say hello, etc. not actually refer to them by name. Otherwise I think it depends how close you were to them. So you're not Mark Renton anymore, eh?
It's always really awkward though, especially once you finish school. Do you still refer to them as Ms/Sir? Do you use their last name (strange in public, but the one you're used to using) or their first name (which is/was a huge no-no at school, but also how I treat all other adults)? SO AWKWARD.
