Haha, yes we did. Well, 1 Belgian did. At some point.
Dude, did the Belgians create the Smurfs? Smurf yeah!
Well, Britain does have the reputation, and the media prefers simplicity.
I don't know, man. Britain seems to be where it's at, according to the media.
Right, I'll track both of those down. If I enjoy them, I'll get more. In return, try and find 'Tao Of The One Inch Punch' (album) by the grunge/hip hop outfit One Inch Punch. It's their only album, and they're a bit odd, but I think they're very good, and it'll diversify your sounds a bit. Probably have to download it however. Nah, I think we have a very good NZ music programme. Honestly, I think it means that a lot of crap New Zealand music gets ahead of good international acts. Some people react by just refusing to like New Zealand music, as it's a fairly good assumption that it's bad. That's a bit of a shame, but they do take NZ music overboard. British bands are more influential than other bands, but that could just have more to do with being in the British Commonwealth. Though, I think it is America, not Britain, that launches all these suddenly-big bands.
Worst Case Scenario by dEUS. Most seminal (and for most people the best) Belgian band (since around 1994), that put Belgium on the world map, in terms of musical influence. They just released a special edition of their first album (forementioned one), but you can probably find a regular, cheaper version too. The Ideal Crash is another one of my favourite albums of theirs. I'm not sure which one I like best. If you listened to both albums, you'd probably never suspect it's the same band. Also, I've been wondering, is the music that comes from the UK also the 'authority' in music and the media over there in NZ? It has been in most of Western society since the Sixties, and still is. Sometimes it's sad that bands get so much attention because they're the next big British band. Bleh.
It just won't be the same man. I grew up listening to Oasis. It's like a little musical piece of me died. Anyhoo, I want to buy a new album. Give me a recommendation and I'll try track it down. Something good that I probably haven't heard or don't own.
Yeah, it was all over the media when it 'happened'. I don't know. I'm not upset about it. Noel's solo stuff might not be bad.
What do you think about their apparent dissolution? This is from Wikipedia: "In late August 2009, Noel Gallagher announced his departure from the band. While no official statement has since been made that the band has split, Liam Gallagher stated in an interview with The Times that "Oasis is no longer". However, in December of 2009, Liam Gallagher said he would continue to record with Gem Archer, Andy Bell (now on guitar), Chris Sharrock, keyboardist Jay Darlington and, a new bassist. After hinting that the band could still be named Oasis, Liam made a definitive statement on 3 December 2009 that "everyone's always going to recognise me as Oasis, so at the moment, it's Oasis.""
Why?
True.
Yes.
Do you like Oasis?
I've only seen it intermittently. My girlfriend's brother was watching it one time I was over, and I would walk in, watch 10 minutes, walk out, walk back in. I know the gist, but I'll tell you what; I'll aim to have watched the whole thing by this time next week, then we'll talk. And I've got that MSN mumbo-jumbo, but I don't really use it. I'll PM you my e-mails that I use. I don't want my last name appearing on teh interwebz to any old body.
Frank? Aw... He's my new friend. Did you like it? And I should really get your e-mailadress. Do you have MSN or Windows Live Messenger or wtf it's called today?
