I lvl everyone because I've played too many games where under lvled characters have been my downfall, also you can swap characters round when one dies if I remember correctly, saves mana
i only level up my main three characters, but i'm way over the recommended level, it was recomended to be LVL11 but i'm LVL19 - LVL20, i did lots of training in the Bhusyu Mines
I use all the characters evenly, swapping them out when they grow a level Tank - Vaan: Spear/Basch: Greatsword Healer - Penelo: Staff/Ashe: Rod (they're kitted out to increase their magic as much as possible and I take away the standard attack gambit) Support - Fran: Bow/Balthier: Gun (They're kitted out with health increasing light armour so that they can take the heat if the tank dies giving my healer a chance to resurrect them)
yes but i had to have basch hes my tank, vann is that quick guy and semi-healer ashe is my long range magic, crazy healer and destroyer of evil with awesome quicknigns oh yeah i have quickenings, basch has 3, ashe 1, and vaan 1
when you choose which characters to use did you base them on base stats?
i realised that about 10mins after i posted it i'm loving the game, and ashe's really short short short shorts lol

i've allready done it 1. Vaan - Spear 2. Basch -sword/greatsword 3. Ashe - Bow i'm at the tomb getting the dawn shard
either fran bow or balthier gun, considering your party I would advise fran for a little extra speed in your formation
