Well, that's because he's a bit more intelligent in this version. Still, his weakness is clear as day. (He has NO aerial HP attacks! ) So, the skies are your sanctuary, basically. He'll probably do his teleport a lot, so dash up to him, and hope you're fast enough. A lot of characters have aerial HP attacks, and they get them relatively early. However, some characters allow you to be more aggressive on the ground. His Delta Attack(where he says something like "Stem the movement!") use an HP attack at this instant, or if it's too late, dodge. Almagest is a joke, it completely breaks his defenses.
Well the Exdeath trick is a little harder to pull of than once thought...

Fate didn't mention a pivital thing. From time to time, Exdeath will cheaply equip an ability called Snooze and Lose. I suggest, after the set-up and getting into battle, walk around and avoid him for a bit(about 15 seconds) and see if it activates. If it does, forfeit immediately, or use the summon just as you're about to connect an HP attack. (For example, when you KNOW Squall's Aerial Circle will hit, use the summon.) Also, don't bother with Bravery attacks, because odds are mostly you'll be dealing 0.
