You called me right?! WHAT DOST THOU DESIRE YOUNG WARRIOR?
Yes, sir?^^
Fate!
Riki!
Yes I was! I mentioned it extremely briefly a few posts back I think. But no, very few to no souvenirs! I was collecting change from around the house just so I could stay there for the full length of it... and now I am once again poor. Such is my fate... Fate. I have some pics though. I just need to bother to upload them. Thief? WHO? Ho ho ho. Well... some counterfeits are so old by now that prosecuting whoever made them would be odd... plus criminals tend to be glorified a lot. Thanks!
You were at an Expo? ...Did you buy me a souvenier? Oh, his name was Thief! Hellfire knows him! Don't counterfeits buy you a ticket... to the criminal records? I'll tell you, don't worry.
Was off at Anime-Expo! Now I'm back, heh. And a bit tired. Can't say I've heard of this guy though. Must be pretty amazing. I wonder if there's ever been a precedent for counterfeits for selling more than the real deal. Maybe if the criminal is famous or something. >.> Three branches... this should be incredibly simple to figure out, but then there may be more than one language with three branches, haha.
Riki, where did you go?
We *had* a new member who was sparking up the forum, but apparently, she left for quite a while... And last July, we had a wonderful member who signed up and really brightened up the forum. Have you heard of him yet? So if I find a counterfeit book, it could sell for even more than the real deal? Ooh! No, it has an alphabet, but it's the reading that I'm slow with. Actually, sometimes I pronounce things wrong, too, since there are three "branches" to our language - three different ways to talk with different accents. I say she did, because i used a translator to... translate the French part, and it came up perfectly.
Well, there's been a decline in activity since about 2 or 3 years after I first joined. Since most members joined then or after, they all witnessed the downward slope in activity, haha. So everyone will say that. But I personally don't think there's a difference between now and a few years back. Only difference is that less people join now (though people who stayed for long periods of time were always rare). I'm not sure how it could be a fake though, haha! I've heard of counterfeit cards and paintings... but a book is a book no matter how it's printed. >.> I'd venture to say it'd be harder to find a counterfeit as opposed to the real deal. I'm sure your parents could easily find an appraiser though. Ahhhh. I'm guessing your first language doesn't use an alphabet sort of system? It'd be tough if that's the case. Getting even an inkling of Japanese writing taught me that. >_> If she did, that may explain why it was pretty literal. Translators are a lot better than before though, ha.
But then I heard it was much more active back then. I'm getting mixed messages. But I have no clue where to get it appraises. What if the book turns out to be fake? Heh heh... Actually, I'm better with English than i am with my first language. i can't read or write it quite that well, but I can speak it fluently. I think maybe she just used a translator?
It is pretty sad... but then, sometimes there isn't much else to do on TFF. >_> I have no clue how much the book would be worth. I mean, thinking about it, things are worth a lot for really weird reasons. Like a 1943 being worth tons and a 1944 only being worth something if made of steel. I don't get it, haha. Maybe you should take it to an appraiser. It's really the only way. I didn't even know it was your second. Sounds great. :O You can do whichever you like though! It's a matter of comfort and whatnot, haha. Also thinking about it, it sounds like SilkAngel knows a lot of languages... or has at least dabbled in many.
Oh!! Now I see it! You could steal Gil? That's... pretty sad... So you think the book could be worth a lot of money? I mean, we've been keeping it in a really good condition!^^ Remember that English is my second language. How is it? However, due to paranoia (again) I can either drop you clues or tell you right now via PMs. Pick one.
I know... English. Haha. I can't hold a decent conversation, unfortunately. I can understand it to a certain extent, but between the speed at which it's spoken and my lack of vocabulary it's very difficult to even listen. I hope to continue and improve in the coming years though! That's about all I can do. Do you know any other languages?
Oh, these forums are definitely vBulletin. See the very very bottom of the forums. But we had to use gil/gold. There were actually quite a few things to do with it, though I wouldn't say it was all fun. One of them caused a lot of trouble too. It let you change another member's username... which unfortunately was abused often enough to where it needed to be deactivated. I think you could also steal other peoples' gil, or put your gil in a bank and make a 10% profit of it every so often. It'd take a lot of fine tuning if it was brought back and overall just a lot of trouble for the person implementing and maintaining it. Hmm... I've never read War and Peace, but it seems it was published somewhere in the mid 19th century. A 70-year-old copy would be hard to come by though... 1930's to 1940's is oooolllldddd.
