Heehee, happy birthday~! ^0~
That's rough, the rings do upgrade. =/ The Hawkeye is best for Hope imo, it's got the highest magic to it and honestly I can't imagine Hope ever needing strength. The Malphas has the best overall balance of magic and strength, though. I did the Neochu once for the Growth Egg and yes I did cheap out and use Death for that one. As for the rest, I used a number of methods but honestly I picked up a ton of CP just doing all the missions. I did do the Behemoth/Mego a little bit and also several runs through the mines (can't spell it off the top of my head heh), starting from the entrance just beyond said Behemoth/Mego. I didn't really go out of my way to grind CP much until I start farming Adamantoise for Trapezohedrons and even then it was secondary. I don't like grinding very much so I got most of my CP by focusing on other things, like 5-starring missions or hunting down stray treasure spheres.
Well, I'm what one would call a "greedy gamer," I suppose. xD I'm always in need of money to upgrade things, no matter how small--all just to get my characters a bit stronger. >.< Oh, no, elemental things were the ones I found the least useful. Every time I picked up one, I sold, even though it wasn't worth much. ^^" Eek, I won't! xD By the way, speaking of Hope's ultimate weapon, which weapon is best to upgrade to a Nue so that it'd be best stats-wise, do you know? And just as some insight, what method did you use to get CP enough to the point that you had enough power to do the harder missions? Was it the Neochu, Behemoth/giant dog/some other way?
Lol, didn't occur to me that anyone would do that, honestly. I had so little need for gil right up until pretty much the last few chapters that I just never bothered selling anything. Figured the equipment was more valuable where I'd have it in case I needed it for anything. I think it's mostly the elemental stuff that you needed to keep, most everything else can be bought/upgraded. Don't sell any more equipment! And I'm not sure about Ravager damage since for me their sole purpose is Staggering the enemy so Fang can rip it apart lol. Hope does do nice Rav damage, it's just hard for anyone to compare to Fang in terms of sheer destructive power lol. Though to be fair, I haven't maxed out Hope's ultimate weapon, but I did max out Fang's.
Oh, noes! =O *shakes head* I guess that trophy's off the chart for me, and the platinum one. I've sold tons of accessories, some right when I get them--just for the Gil and upgrade I get from it. Now I wish I hadn't done that. (You should have hunted me down and told me that earlier! XD) Ah, one for each character in the party. =D Is it possible for a Ravager to even deal enough damage to exceed the limit, do you know? I can't give up Hope in my party (for fanboy reasons x3) but I want him to deal decent damage, too, not just fractions. =S
Well...it depends on if you want the trophy/achievement or not. Some items you only get once and need to be fully upgraded. There are three Genji Gloves, all from various Cie'th missions. It's not really necessary until you start upgrading weapons but it's totally worth having it in the end. Fang can easily do over a million damage with a single Highwind as long as the enemy's got a high enough Stagger gauge.
Oh, God, I sort of screwed up at that one, too, then. ._. I've sold a ton of accessories that I don't use; only the Sprint Shoes and STR/MAG-enhancing accessories have proven worth to me. I'm not entirely screwed, am I? I remember seeing a list for upgrading once, and one of the better ones was buyable via a shop you get from a boss, so I might refer to that. And is the Genji Glove via Titan, too, or some other mission?
It means you have to have had at some point in time every weapon and accessory. Not all at the same time since that's pretty much impossible. Luckily you really have to try to miss it, as long as you never sell any accessories you'll be fine. You get the Gilgamesh shop from one of the Titan Trials, but you can get decent weapons from the other shop that's available. I don't think I even bought a Taming Pole, I just picked it up from somewhere. The weapons themselves aren't too expensive...mostly.
I think just by beating the game and getting the Instrument of Change trophy will net you Hope's Theme, right? =D Hooray, I got the easy one. xD Sazh's was simple, too, though I don't know why that trophy was Gold. And does owning every weapon and accessory mean you have to...have everything in your inventory, or just information on them? I tried reading up on the summary, but it made absolutely no sense to me at all. Do you knowhow confusing all the l'Cie, fal'Cie, Cocoon stuff is if it's just handed to you with no understanding? xD But the story is very nice when you actually play it. [The trailers made no sense, though.] What?! D= Oh, dear God... ._. I've always just gotten lazy and stuck with the simpler weapons. >.> Hope just has a really high-leveled Skycutter upgraded from his very first weapon. >.< I guess I'll have to get some better weapons. How do you get the Gilgamesh shop?
I've got...one mission to finish, 5-starring them all, owning every weapon and accessory, and 5-starring the final boss left. I really want the weapon/acc trophy because it unlocks Fang's PS3 theme. >_> I actually avoided pretty much all information about this besides the all-important release date and a few of the early trailers. I'm glad I did, it was way more fun discovering everything with no idea of what to expect. As far as weapons, it matters quite a lot which one you upgrade from. Each version has different stats and/or abilities based on what weapon you upgraded to get it. Fang's Taming Pole is the best for Kain's Lance because it has high strength and magic. The Stagger Lock thing is negligible.
Oh? You've almost gotten all other trophies already? x.x I can only guess you're missing the one for completing all missions and the one for 5-starring them all? xD And I agree, though to be honest I never thought I'd like this game this much. =D I suspected it to be...poor in content and rich in graphics, actually, but they're both wonderful. 8D Ah, that first one is my party, too! It was my initial thought months ago--based on characters, not abilities--but then I though it'd be too weak, so I started out with no Vanille. But then I saw a video on YouTube where they used the party and they were good, so I switched back. xD Good to know I can last with it, though. Oh, and regarding ultimate weapons:does it matter what you upgrade it from to get the ultimate weapon, or are they all the same stat-wise? =S
Well I've been playing it pretty much since release day haha, I'm pretty close to getting a Platinum trophy for it. XD I don't usually go out of my way for that but I <3 this game. I've got two standard teams, right now it's Fang as my lead, Vanille and Hope. If I don't actually need a second healer for anything I switch Hope out for Lightning. Or will, when I get her an ultimate weapon. So expensive. ;_;
Hahaha, you sure seem to know your Final Fantasy XIII stuff, don't you? =D Just out of curiosity, which three did you use for your party, anyway? I know for sure Fang is one of them. *cough*youravatar*cough* xD
Thanks. Mine too, was always way too easy in school though. Hoping college will be better...if I ever get there. Someday. As a matter of fact...lol. I'm actually working on the first draft of a novel right now. Discipline is a real issue for me but I'm getting better. If all goes according to plan I should have it done by the end of next month, provided I actually stay on schedule this month.
I've read some of your work, and to be honest, you're really great! =D English has always been one of my preferred subjects. Haven't you ever considered writing a book and having it published?
