Some good, mostly bad.
My aunt developed lung cancer back in the spring. They removed part of her lung and said they got it all & she'd be fine.
It came back in full effect and has spread to her lymph nodes. My mom's beside herself worrying about it - especially being so far away. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I haven't been close to my aunt since I was 12 and haven't seen her - or my cousins - since 2004. I guess I'm more worried about my mom. She has enough to deal with between handling my dad and doing work over at the shop & stuff.
Jay's finally been diagnosed with Graves Disease. It's really nothing major, it's not genetic, there's just no cure for it - only treatment. Just means he can't keep weight on to save his life. They're going to refer him to a regular doctor once he officially gets out of the Army next month. He may have to have surgery to get his thyroid removed.. Which still weirds me out.
My parents think they've found someone to buy Optimus Prime. My dad's been dubbed something about Kentucky Hillbilly Redneck (I couldn't hear what my mom said exactly).. He siliconed a bunch of shit in and on the truck to put it back together, and the guy who owns the shop spent hours trying to scrape it all off.
This makes me sad. I mean, it's depressing enough seeing my dad struggle with not being able to work and do what he's always loved doing. But I don't think I can ever get used to -not- seeing the truck sitting there. He was so proud of it when they bought it.
He's owned his own truck since the late 70's/early 80's - upgrading to newer models every few years, but this one, he bought brand new. The sleeper, he and my mom had custom made and picked out the interior, had a combo shower/toilet, convection oven, 2-eye stove top, sink, good sized fridge/freezer, then my dad somehow bolted a flat screen down to a counter and ordered a satellite that he jerry-rigged to the outside when they were stopped.. The cab was a never-been-driven Peterbilt (which they switched out to a Kenworth and then back to Peterbilt over the years).
I did get to go with him one last time, but in a Freightliner. A shitty one. We took it to Tyler, TX to get inspected for Landstar. Even my dad was like "This is probably the junkiest truck you've ever been in." And it was. But at least I got to go. I hadn't gone with him since.. Probably somewhere in middle school - 13 or 14 maybe. I can't remember when they started doing military. But, it was nice to get to go. I only wish Parker could've gone even on just a short drive around a block or something. I wanted her to have a camp out with me in it over Christmas, but my sister pitched a fit about it and said she didn't wanna sleep in the little house all by herself. She's a bitch.
But anywho.
Enough with that.
Parker.. My sweet child, got to write her own song with a friend of my sister's.
And we went to the Pumpkin Patch!
We had lunch there and she freaked out over a yellow jacket getting close to her. Several people laughed. We got a giant pumpkin, but she didn't wanna carve it! IDK why.
