Small Girl, Big Life

F*CK my life.

So Jay comes home and starts talking all this Army mumbo jumbo and using abbreviations & Army Man terms that I know nothing about or understand.

After practically yelling at him to explain to me what these terms & letters mean (seriously, it's like a foreign language dude), he tells me that everyone else that's not getting deployed in August/September is getting their contracts bought out in like 2 months..

Everyone except for him and 1 other person.

He's been given undeployable status, but he's afraid that they'll Stop-Loss him and make him deploy again.

According to him, if they do that and he's out in Afghanistan when his contract runs out, then -he- is responsible for getting himself home and returning his gear back to base. If he gets killed the day his contract is up, he loses his benefits - including his Life Insurance. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's what he said. I somehow don't really believe they'd be allowed to do that. I think they have to pay extra. IDK. I stopped listening 'cuz it was giving me a headache and Parker was sitting right there.

And I -really- don't think that they'd do it to him anyway. I'm hoping they'll tell him -soon- that they're going to buy out his contract. The whole point of buying out everyone that's not getting deployed is so that they can get fresh meat in and going.

This is very stressful.
