Michael hasn't got a mean bone in his body.

"Your latest post on tipping, specifically pointing out something to me, crossed a line with me. Frankly, it's bordering on insulting my intelligence and making it public. You see, when you post something and include something along the lines of "Hey, you, read this because I focusing it on you" it gives off a "you're stupid" tone to your post.

It is recommended that when you want to talk to someone specifically about a topic, you take it to a message (VM or PM) rather than exposing that in a post. It's just more respectful and the tone is usually of a more understanding nature. This is also something you could take throughout a lot of your recent posting. In a lot of the most recent threads, you have considerably more posts in them. And really the content in a lot of those posts are not contributing anything further to the conversations other than you agreeing with someone on their point. You may claim you're doing it to boost forum activity, but it is actually having a negative with some other members.

To be completely honest, when I see that you were the last person to post in something, I will choose not to read the thread until someone else posts and then just skip over what you wrote. The only reason I read what you wrote in the tipping thread is because I was told that I was mentioned in it.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not in any way saying to stop posting, because I am sure that a lot of the members enjoy reading your content. It boosts activity, and that is what TFF needs right now. I am just not of the same mind as the others."



I was in no way insulting anyone's intelligence. I was simply stating a plain and simple fact. I don't have the energy, time, or patience for things like this. But like I said, according to Michael, I've overstayed a welcome that was either never extended to begin with or didn't last very long - rendering me sadly mistaken about how it is here. My feathers rarely get ruffled over internet drama, but when I'm attacked in this manner and treated like that, I'm not okay with it.

I'm not an idiot, regardless of whether I go off topic or not. I'm actually a very smart (& wise) person in spite of what anyone thinks.

And for him to say that I claim to post around here to boost forum activity is totally and utterly absurd. Never in my life have I ever even -hinted- at such a thing. Just as well, I have -never- insulted or attacked him - or any other member here in this forum. I've been nothing but -nice-.

So, As I told him in response, Congratulations. He succeeded in making me -not- want to be a member here any longer.

I only have one response to that, and it as follows:

You couldn't be more wrong. I have no beef with you and I have no idea why you would think that I do. My post wasn't on tipping, it was on prices in australia vs usa, everyone decided they wanted to discuss tipping, I dont care as long as people have fun talking about stuff. If you were reffering to my post in your thread about tipping, I was genuinly curious and I also said that I would tip people for good service, unlike most others. Im not sure what you're upset about, its unclear to me.

Not -you- Rowan. I'm talking about Michael. He PMed me what I quoted above and took everything I said way far out of context. I have no problems with anyone here, but for a message like that to be sent to me out of nowhere, when I'm simply stating facts (without attacking or insulting anyone's intelligence). Yes, I mentioned Michael's name because he was the one that made the comment about "tipping a restaurant". I actually -did- go back to talking about prices and what not like the original topic but it kept going back to restaurants, servers, and tipping.

I have no issues with you either lol.. At all. I never had any issues with anyone until he sent me that message and insulted me like that when I did nothing to him. In fact, I've made comments on his blog posts here and there trying to like be nice, reach out, whatever. I don't care that he never makes contact with me, but for him to outright say that he avoids any threads that have me as the last poster until someone else posts just so that he can skip over & ignore what I've said and respond to others? That's completely rude, hurtful, and uncalled for - among the other snarky comments he made.

There was nothing malicious or "mad" about anything I said - there never is.

IDK. I give up. Either way, the things he said were very hurtful and mean. And that's just the plain and simple fact.

I would not have expected such a thing of Micheal. Of course, since it was a PM, we can't be certain it happened that way, but it doesn't matter.

Please don't leave, Nox. It may have seemed to be an offensive message, but maybe Micheal didn't mean it to sound that way? I mean not everyone has tact and is sensitive towards the feelings of others - like yourself.
And yeah, I've known Micheal to be involved in some terse backseat moderating in the past, and though I'm sure he believes his actions are rooted only in his concern for the wellbeing of these forums, he obviously should have left this issue to the moderators (if there even were an issue...)

If you cannot forgive, then please ignore him for now. Come on, there are a lot of other members here, none of whom have a problem with you

I agree with cyanista, it's not how the entire forum feels about you, or the content of your posts.

If you want to take a break from here that's understandable, but don't let what happened be your final impression of this place or its members. A lot of us just want to be chill and chat.

And no, I rarely forgive - or forget - something or someone like that.

You could just add him to your ignore list. The thing with any community, perhaps moreso on the internet, is that you will never get along with everyone 100% of the time. You could always request moderator mediation, just forward the PM and explain the situation and see what happens. One person making a bad comment doesn't mean everyone feels that way. =/

Have you... tried telling him how his comment made you feel? That it was inappropriate? Insulting? I mean, everyone's got an opinion, but if he thought that you were picking on him, perhaps he was just lashing out in kind. Sounds like you both got some wires crossed and just need to clarify. Not excusing him if he's simply being rude, but I don't know what "other members" he's talking about.

I rather enjoy the activity that you bring. :3

I'll be honest. Michael really doesn't have a bad bone in his body, and I think his PM might have been read into too much. He expressed a concern with you, which may or may not have been the wisest idea.

Also, I don't think anyone on here has any issues with you at all. Maybe I'm just really out of the loop, but no one is bitching behind your back. There's nothing to bitch about. You're cool imo. Don't let this have a negative effect on your opinion of TFF. I think it was a misunderstanding, and the best (or better) way to solve it is to clear things out with Michael via PM. I really don't think he meant harm.

If you're not satisfied with that response, report the PM or PM a mod to speak with him. We can help before it gets to this stage...
