I apologize for not posting an entry yesterday. My modem was dead when I woke up Wednesday morning. The poor thing. It had a long life, and outlived two computers. I called the phone company and they shipped a new one out. They said it would arrive at the end of the day on Friday, but it arrived today! They must really like receiving money from me each month. Along with the modem, they sent me three new line conditioners and a whole new set of cords. I already had an extra line conditioner, so the three new ones will just collect dust (or rather, the plastic bags they came in will), and the old cords still work perfectly as well.
I have noticed that my Internet speed has increased. I guess the reason why my Internet was slowing down was because the old modem was just old and overused. Anyway, here's hoping the new modem last as long or longer than the old one. They are the exact same model, so it should.
During my offline time, I played video games. I get a lot more gaming done when I am not on the computer. I finished a whole game from start to finish yesterday. I played Ed, Edd n Eddy: The Mis-Edventures. It was alright. I liked playing as some of my favorite cartoon characters from childhood. The game was really short though. I wish it had been longer, just like the animated series.
I also started a file of Oblivion. It is the only PS3 game I own that doesn't have trophies, so I figured I'd play it. I just didn't want to get trophies while I was unable to update it automatically to PSN. It would look weird if I earned some while online and others offline. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I just prefer to have them all recorded to show proof that they were earned when I earned them.
Today's delivery route was fantastic. I arrived at 5:32am, and was finished at 8:59am. I got back home at 9:58am. It was foggier than I would have liked in town, but it was manageable. It's weird that it was foggier in town than it was where I live in the woods. Especially because there are more natural water sources near my house. And temperature was so nice today. Nothing went wrong at all today. It didn't rain until after I got home! That's the best thing that happened to me so far this week, having the precipitation occur when I wasn't out riding my bike.
I cashed my check today, and the owner of the newspaper was there as well. She saw me and said, "I waved at you yesterday while I was heading to work." I replied with my confused look and said, "Yesterday? I didn't work yesterday. I was at home all day." She got her days mixed up and realized that she saw me on Tuesday when I was getting the rest of my things from the office.
Here's a little weirdness. Though I am technically no longer the editor and composer of the paper, I still am credited as the editor and composer of the paper. I was looking through it today while I was folding and saw that they didn't take my name out yet. I am not going to tell them and see how long it takes for them to change it. Until that happens, I think I might go ahead and claim that I did the work. After all, it's right there in black size 10 Garamond font that I am the editor and ad composer.
You know, I can almost guarantee that they won't find someone else to do my job. Especially since they will have have to train someone from the very beginning. And since their new rule on training people is that they don't pay you until you actually complete the training. I was already on the pay roll, so they had no choice but pay me.
Anyway, the big news of the day is that Itsy Bitsy had her kittens last night! She had another four! What's even better is that they are still alive, and it has almost been a whole 24 hours that they have been alive! There are three black cats and one striped cat. And they look so puffy and fluffy. Itsy had already given birth to two of them when I left for work this morning. They are so cute!
Tomorrow I will be delivering in Sinking Spring, and also asking around about job opportunities. I was told that one of the stores is hiring. After that, I should be home all day playing video games and looking at the new kittens. If all goes well, I should have a new job.
Well, that's all for now. I hope to see you around the forums, and until then...
Later!
Michael
