My delivery route went well today. I didn't have any problems at all. I finished at 9am, and made my way home.
Grandma was mowing her yard when I got to her house. I went in and called my brother to see if he would pick me up there. After I got off the phone, she told me that I didn't get the job I had applied for on Monday. She knew before I did apparently. And then she said that there were rumors going around that I didn't get it because my hair was too long. She said, "You are perfectly qualified for the job, but because of your hair you didn't get the job."
Now, I know that my hair isn't a normal length for a guy. However, it hasn't yet nor will it hold me back in a professional work environment. I already told you what the Email I was sent said on why I didn't receive the job. Nowhere did it say that my appearance was the cause of the rejection. I think it is just people trying to start drama. And Grandma has never liked me having longer hair. She was the main person against my going to her church because of it.
And so, I told her the same thing I told her when the church thing happened. If they are judging me for how I look, then it is not the kind of company I want to work for. Now, that's if what she said was true. It's better that I didn't work for them, in that case. I wouldn't want their ways to influence me in a bad way.
Moving forward...
I have a couple other applications under review. I should be hearing from them soon on whether I will be getting an interview. The thing is to continue to put myself out there. If things work out, then that's great. If not, then I know I tried and something will come up. It always does. I haven't given up yet, so I am not about to start now.
Now if only I could get the people who owe me money to pay me. Then I wouldn't have to worry so much. Today was the second tutoring session in a row that I haven't been paid. And my brother owes me $60 for his portion of the bills that I paid. And my sister, she's never even thought about paying me back.
In other news...
My copy of Pokemon White arrived today. There's just one problem, and it's not with the game. My Wi-Fi uses WPA, and so my DS isn't compatible with it because it needs WEP. So, I can't connect to trade or battle here at home. My old modem had WEP, and I thought they would be the same. But their not, and it makes me sad.
But not sad enough to not play the game. I have three Pokemon already. Lillipup is so CUTE! You probably know this already, but I love cute Pokemon. I have no idea what the other Pokemon look like, having only seen the first episode of the Black & White season of the anime. My starter is Oshawott, because my preferred type is Water. The battles seem a bit laggy, but other than that it seems like a good game.
Well, at 1am this morning Eat Your Kimchi will be having their next live chat on YouTube. I will be staying up to watch it. And then tomorrow morning I will be delivering in Sinking Spring. After that, I have no plans. So that's all for now. I hope to see you around the forums, and until then...
Later!
Michael
