A box full of memories...

Since the last entry, I worked some more. None for Larry, but I did tutor Iris some more. Now that Carma is off vacation, I have Joey at night. That means I can't be working until late at night with Larry. That is actually the only bad thing to happen now that Autumn is gone. Oh well.
Iris is doing well in her math class now. Her test last week was a 93.9%, and the one yesterday was a 94.something. She has her final exam in May, so we will be working toward it next.
Iris actually does not want me to go to Florida. Well, in a joking way, she doesn't want me to go. She says that she won't be able to find someone to take my routes after I leave. Also, she won't be able to pass her next math class as well. But deep down, she is happy for me, and supports my decision (when I finally make the decision).
Yesterday evening I was over on Google Maps, looking at the city of Orange City, Florida. And then it hit me. The best chance for me to get a job in Florida would be to apply where I have experience in the field. So I looked up newspapers in the area. There are a few within riding distance of where we'll be, and I plan on applying to them as soon as I get settled in the Sunshine State.
In a way, I have actually limited myself in the job market by staying at the Messenger as long as have. I can't even seem to get a job at a store because I don't have experience with a cash register. So working at a newspaper seems like the best plan. Even if it's just a carrier position, it will be okay. There aren't giant hills to climb.
I am saving up money, but you already knew that. But what you didn't know (because I haven't told you) is that I am saving up for a new bike and laptop, as well as money in general Florida. I just feel that a new state warrants a new bike. And if I get a new laptop, I can give the one I use now to Mom. Then, we can still talk to each other online when I leave. I just want to make moving to another part of the country as painless as possible. I mean, I've spent 20 years in Ohio. And although I hate the cold weather, the hills, and a whole bunch of people; I still like some bits of my life here.
But anyway...
There's not really much to talk about. My savings account is up to $198.16, and I had to go to the bank yesterday to get it viewable on my online account. I got the rest of my video games from the storage unit. All that is left in there are the two Super Nintendo games, and the GameBoy Color I found on my route a while back. I went to the storage unit to get my Guitar Hero guitar and DDR dance pad, but they weren't within view. They may be buried under everything next to my television. I'm sure I'll get it when we clean it out. After all, I'm taking some of that stuff with me to Florida.
Well, that's all for now. I hope to see you around the forums, and until then...
Later!
Michael
