October Snow

Let's see, what happened this week? Well, I ordered some computer programs last Friday. I got a great deal on them. 20 programs for only $29.95 (plus whatever Shipping and Handling is going to cost). Along with the basic office programs (Corel Office), I am getting Sudoku 1000, Mahjong, Hoyle Games, four programs from Serif (Website, Photos, Videos, and Scrapbook), a couple business programs, and AnimeDebut 2.0. There are some others, but I can't remember them off the top of my head. I meant to bring the paper with me today, but I forgot. It is coming from the same company my computer is coming from. I was able to pay the asking price all at once because of the increase in my checks. I just have to wait until they arrive to find out the shipping cost. I know, it is a bit odd to have programs for the computer before I actually have the computer.
But some good news about the computer. If things with work continue (and they most likely will despite the boredom), then I will have it paid off in two weeks. Dad said that he will take care of the bills until I get it paid off. So that's good. Once I pay it off it will only be 6-8 weeks for the computer to arrive.
Some more good news. I now have a house phone. Dad has already spent $60 on cell phone minutes in only two weeks that I went and added phone service to my Internet service. It will save us (Dad) money, at only $30.99 per month. It is unlimited local and long distance, so we can even get Mom to call now. If anyone feels like talking to me from here, just ask for the number.
I built a house for the kittens the other day. With the big storm that went through the area, I felt it necessary. The kittens were always in a bundle against the house, so building them some shelter was a good thing. I just didn't do a super job on it though. The roof leaks, and they haven't been in it much. Also, there was so much rain and snow that it was coming in the door.
Speaking of the storm, we had two inches of snow at 7 am on Tuesday. And it came down all day (from starting the night before). Toward the evening it was back to rain, and melted all the snow. So, it has been a slushy, sloppy mess ever since. It is sunny today, so everything is looking better.
Anyway...
Things with Dad have stagnated. The friend that I talked about last week felt it appropriate to walk right in the front door on Tuesday evening. After this person left, I asked Dad why the person did it. Here's the response
"The person didn't think anything of it. The person apologized."
I left it at that, because I didn't want another blowup. But in my opinion, if the person believes that it is unnecessary to knock, then the person has most definitely outworn their welcome. The only house I walk in without knocking (other than my own) is Grandma's, and that's because she said that I don't have to. I was raised to knock, and in fact, I never even went in Nana's house until the day before she died, and even then I knocked. You don't just walk in someone's house.
The reason why Dad has spent so much money on cell minutes is because the rude person keeps calling Dad.
Anyway...again.
Mom wrote me a letter. In it she put all of the stamps she had been saving up for my collection. There were at least 100 in there. I wrote her back last night, and I told her what had been happening. ALL that had been happening. I would write all that happens in this blog (I almost wrote "journal" just now), but I can't fit it all in one hour.
In gaming news, I am stuck in Chrono Trigger. I have to fight a Lavos Spawn, and can't last more than five minutes against it. So, I started playing Final Fantasy XII (again). I am currently on the search for Jinn in the Giza Plains. All of the other games I usually talk about have made no progress either.
Also, I have been kicking butt in Rummy against Dad. We played Tuesday night and I won by 500+ points. Then Dad wanted a chance to "redeem himself" on Wednesday. So we played, and I ended up winning by 100 points (I think). I kinda lost the flow when the person called on the land phone. Dad and this person talked for 10+ minutes, and I was seriously getting ticked off. Dad must have noticed, because he took his turn while he was still talking. I told him to just talk on the phone and that way he could focus on the game after.
Well, that's all for now. Hope to be back next week with another entry.
Later!
