A New Place

I must have been really tired when I went and started a nap this evening. Or rather, yesterday evening. It is now nearly 4am, and I have been asleep for eight hours. But now I feel not tired, so I guess that is good thing. My route went fine. I was originally going to leave the house at 5am yesterday, but it was very cold outside. So, I decided to wait for my brother to wake up and ask him to take me to town. Because he always goes to visit Dad however, he was only able to drop me off atthe feed mill. Well, it's better than nothing.
Anyway, the route. I worked nonstop delivering the papers. When I was nearly finished though, there had still been no one to show up so I could get my check. I sent a message to Iris asking if anyone would be there. Her answer was that no one would be. I was really frustrated then, because you would think they would have made arrangements for someone to be there to give me what I earned. But I am not surprised. They tend to always not think about the staff member that doesn't work in the office. Anyway, I will be going to the office on Monday to get paid. That is also when I will ask about delivering on Thursday, which almost doesn't seem possible. I just have this feeling that the papers will be delivered on Friday morning.
I was worried when I learned that I wouldn't be getting my check, because I had sent checks the other day to both the water company and the company I purchase stamps from. I didn't want them to try and cash my checks, only to discover I don't have the money in my account. So, I deposited all of the money I had with me. I guess it's a good thing that I don't have to buy anything this weekend. Anyway, the stamp company won't even receive the check I sent and process it until two weeks from now, so I don't really have anything to worry about.
I arrived at Grandma's at 2:15pm. We talked about everything that has happened since we last saw each other. I told her that I would go and get the recipe for the cookies I want on Monday, that way I can be better prepared. I didn't bring any paper or anything with me. I also told her that I would be able to start typing up her recipes for her that day if she wanted, because I would have my laptop computer by then. My brother saw my bike in the driveway when he went by, so he stopped and picked me up. As we were leaving, Grandma gave us more cookies.
On the porch when we got home was a big box. I knew what it was when I saw it. It was the laptop computer I bought. Now, I don't have to be freezing cold when I work online. And I will be able to type up Grandma's recipes for her. As I am typing this entry, I am sitting by the fire on the couch. It is really nice. It's a Windows XP, which I don't really like as much as Windows 7, but it'll do. Anyway, everything works on it, and I can access the Internet from anywhere in the house now.
Mom got my letter sooner than I had predicted. She didn't seem to like what I had put in it. This is why I don't like having to tell her everything that goes on here in a letter. She was pretty mad about how Dad doesn't help out here. And she is worried that my brother and her won't see each other because of the legal trouble he's in at the moment. She also told me some things I didn't want to hear. It's not too bad, I guess. It certainly doesn't sit well with me, considering I am the type that believes that marriage is something that should be forever, and not something that can be tossed aside like it's nothing. But I guess that's the way things are now, though I don't want it to be. It just assures my decision to not be caught up in any of that romantical stuff. I am happy being a one-person party. I can leave the whole spreading of the Swayne genes to my brother and sister.
Well, I have to restart the laptop to install the updates. I hope to see you around the forums, and until then...
Later!
