The Michael Swayne Story V: King of his Castle

It didn't start raining this morning until I was out on my bike. But it wasn't too bad. There was a situation when some random driver stopped me on my road as I almost home. She started asking me all sorts of questions. You know, the normal ones I get asked a lot. And normally, I am fine with that. But today, the way she asking the questions was just making me so aggravated. She was asking me things as if I wasn't allowed to be on the road that I live on, all uppity and whatnot. In the end, she found out how close I was to home when she had to stop at the corner of my property to let the tractors and corn hauling things (I don't know what they're called, but they are used to carry corn to the feed mill), and I pulled in the driveway.

The fire went out while I was gone, and I was having trouble getting it going again. So much that Dad ended up taking over when he stopped in. He used his letter from Mom as a firestarter. He read it and tossed it in. Oh well.

My brother made a fancy wooden house for the cats. He said that the one I made for them looked bad and it wasn't doing anything to keep rain out. And that's true, it was in pretty bad shape. The one he made even has shingles on it, and it has a big, round space cut out for a door. The cats love it. It's smaller than the one I made, but it's a lot better than the one I made.

I had my right arm wrapped up in a wrap and sterile pads this evening. The firewood I brought in made my arm itchy, and I scratched a couple scabs off from where the cats were using my arm as a scratching post before. It doesn't itch anymore. It just looks like I have a few holes in my arm or something.

Well, tomorrow is supposed to be a cold day. I think I'll spend it wrapped up in a blanket and play games. Grandma is supposed to stop by tomorrow as well. I think I'll ask her if there's a way to put the strap back on my backpack.
