The Michael Swayne Story II: The Re-Ascension of a Prince

I was planning on making one more post in my journal, but with everything changing lately, I can't. Basically, this chapter of my life is ending, and the next one is about to begin. Dad had a three-day visit on Monday, and Grandma drove him back to the rehab center this morning. Chances are that this Tuesday he will be home for good. So, everything is becoming normal again. The Life on my Own is ending, and I am about to take my rightful place on the throne again.

So, let's begin.

The Re-Ascension of a Prince

For those that don't know me, feel free to read up on my journal located here. It is a long read, so I will summarize here. My name's Michael, and I am 25 years old. I was born in Tucson, Arizona; and I now live in Peebles, Ohio. I work at the town's newspaper, and have for six years now (today's the anniversary). I spend most of my free time playing video games and reading. I have one dog and four kittens. I speak Spanish and Mandarin fluently.

In 2009, my family's house was raided by the police and my parents plead guilty to drug charges. They were sentenced to prison for four years. Since 9-25-2009, my siblings and I have lived on our own. Then, my sister developed her own problems with drugs and would go from one family member to another. My brother fell in love and moved out. So, for the last 15 months, I have been by myself.

Now, everything is becoming better. For the last four months, my father has been at the STAR rehabilitation center, as part of his judicial release. He has had three visits home since his time at STAR. One for eight hours, and two for three days each. Basically, these visits home are really just tests. It is to see if he falls back in with the old crowd and goes into the drug scene again. I am making sure that everything runs smoothly while he is home on these visits. And so, Dad may be coming home next Tuesday.

Anyway, the big thing about today is that I have been working at the Messenger for six years now. I have gone through four bicycles, traveled 6,122 miles, and have delivered more than 200,000 newspapers. Last Friday, I had to break down and buy a new bicycle. It put me back another week on getting everything paid up. This new bike is really nice. I love being able to use the handbrakes, instead of putting my shoes on the ground in order to stop.

My brother is working in New York right now. He called Grandma and my sister and told them what he's doing. And according to Grandma this morning, he is going through with his divorce with Hoochie HoBag. I am glad, because she was not suited for him at all. I am not the only person who thinks that.

Well, my time at the library computer is almost up, so I will end for now. As for how this new style of blogging/journaling goes, I expect good things. I hope to be back next week with more.

Here's to you,

Michael

All the best for the future, Michael. That kinda sounds like something you'd put in a card for someone who's leaving.
