The Michael Swayne Story V: King of his Castle

It's here, and I spent the majority of the day playing it!

After delivering to the stores in Sinking Spring this morning, I sat at my desk and waited for the FedEx person to arrive. I had my curtain open so I could see out my window. But then I got bored so I kept refreshing the tracking page of my package and how it was approaching my house.

Finally, I saw it driving up the road. And then I saw it drive right on by without slowing down. And then I proceeded to say semi-bad things about the incompetence of the delivery driver. My brother woke up to these loud remarks, and said that they don't go my mailboxes and instead use GPS. And for some reason a GPS says our house is down the road. Of course this did not calm me down, because I was thinking that the person was delivering my PS3 to someone who is not named Michael Swayne. My fear is that he wouldn't require the person to sign for the package, and I would never get a PS3 and be out $180.

About fifteen minutes later, the driver comes back this way. He stopped at the neighbors house, got out of his truck, and checked their mailbox. When it was determined that the neighbor's house was not the correct address, he started driving again. And again, he drove by the house. And I was standing out there in the driveway signaling that he was supposed to stop here.

A few minutes later, he finally pulled in the driveway. He said hello and admitted to driving by the house. Then he opened the back door of the truck, and packages started falling out of the truck. We both start catching boxes and parcels, preventing them from getting muddy (another day of snow). This truck was worse than my closet! And then, he had to dig through the jumbled mess to find my box, which just so happened to be at the bottom of the pile. This pile of boxes was like they were just thrown in there without any concern on whether things were fragile or not.

And I didn't have to sign for it! He just asked if I was who I am, and handed me the box. I said thank you and went back in the house. Then I hooked up my PS3, and started playing immediately. I had to, because of the feedback I needed to give the seller on eBay. Not because I wanted to play the games. As soon as I determined that everything was in working order, I sent the feedback, and resumed playing. For fun this time.

Oh my gosh, Catherine is such a good game! I am at Doom's Bride right now, and it is totally kicking my butt. But the puzzles are so great. And the story! The story is amazing! I am doing this playthrough on easy. Even though I have been spending most weekends watching Gypsy Elder play the game, I still felt it necessary to start out small. There have been a few levels on Easy that I had trouble. Surprisingly, I was able to finish the scary gigantic monster baby level in one try, and earned Gold for it. Other than a Bronze rating in the third stage, everything has been gold.

But Doom's Bride has killed me so many times. Although, I have plenty of tries remaining. I have earned 99 Mystic Pillows (extra lives), so I have the lives to waste. Stupid ice blocks, stupid Doom's Bride, stupid sliding off ice and falling to my death.

I am also at Chapter 2 already in Final Fantasy XIII. I thought it would take time to get used to the controls again for this game, but everything came back quickly. It was as if I played it yesterday. I also got choked up again whenever Hope's Mom came on the screen. And I mean every time. Because I knew that she wouldn't be alive much longer.

And I even loaded up Final Fantasy XIII-2. I didn't start playing it. I downloaded Serah's steel outfit (I forget the actual name). It was the only thing that was free.

Which brings up my next point. I also have my PS3 connected to PSN. I have sent friend requests to all the TFF members I could think of. Well the ones that I could find the PSN names for. My PSN name is

me3lingual

I wanted it to be just 3lingual, but it has to start with a letter. So I made it so that if one was to say it out loud, it would make them sound as if they can't even speak English well. After all, "Me Three Lingual" is not proper grammar. Kinda reminds me of Tarzan's speech.

Anyway, I would love to be friends with you on PSN. If I haven't sent you a request, feel free to send me one or leave your name in the comments below. I don't have many trophies right now, so you are welcome to laugh at my noobishness in trophy collecting. I noticed from the profile I sent requests to that several people have several hundred trophies , some with multiple platinum trophies. I have only done that with Dirt 2 when my brother had his and his friend's PS3 here. I may have to borrow that game from him so I can do that on my PS3. I will ask my brother about that tomorrow.

There are a few more games that I want to get in the near future. Games like...

Grand Theft Auto IV (main story, since I have played Gay Tony before, although I haven't finished the Biker story yet)
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (I loved this game when I played it before)
Gran Turismo 5

That would be all for now. But I should probably finish what I already have right now.

In other news...

The next King of the Web election started today. I finished the last one in 15th Place! That's a big improvement over my first contest and 26th Place. Right now I am in 18th Place with 71 votes. I won't be actively campaigning this time, so there won't be any daily reminders to vote for me. I appreciate it if you do vote for me, but I won't be begging for it like I was the last two elections.

I did find time to post the third episode of my tiny-series today. It's nothing special, because I basically just threw it together after dinner this evening.

While I was getting my old computer keyboard out of the storage shed, I cut my foot on a piece of glass. It serves me right for wearing my holey shoes out to the shed where there is broken glass on the floor. I washed it in my sink and of course it did not want to stop bleeding. It was already soaking through the bandage before I had gotten both adhesive ends on my skin. It seems fine now. I have a sock over it just in case.

Well, I am off to spend my night on my couch gaming. And raging. And probably sleeping. I am stuck with my current room furniture arrangement until we turn the wood stove off. If I could change everything around right now, I would make it so there is plenty of room for an eventual Rock Band/Guitar Hero/whatever PS3 dancing game they have available set up in the middle of my room.

That's all for now. I hope to see you around the forums, and until then...

Later! Or sooner if you are on PSN!

Michael

Yeah, I see you managed to find me. Guessing from my profile page. Many of us have had our PS3s for a long time, so it is very easy to get a lot trophies over the years. Best to just enjoy the games and not worry much over the trophies.

I set up a PSN account when I got my PSP, but that was a couple of months ago and I've forgotten both my username and password. Once I sort it out i'll come find you.
