The Michael Swayne Story V: King of his Castle

Take a little trip.

Today my copy of Grand Theft Auto IV arrived in the mail. After I got home from work, I put it in and that's what my brother and I have been doing all day. My brother started with Niko's story, but I started with Luis's. My brother didn't save his profile, so he has to start again. I like the game, but there's rarely a GTA game that I don't like. The only one I didn't like was GTA 2, because I was so used to the PS2 era games that GTA2 was painful to play.

I should back up a bit and talk about work.

It was surprisingly warm today. The high was only supposed to be just above freezing, but I didn't have to wear my scarf today. It made delivering very nice. I haven't gotten my check cashed yet, but maybe Dad will do it tomorrow when he's in town for his doctor's appointment.

The big news that I have been trying to keep quiet about this week is that I am taking a cycling trip tomorrow. I didn't even tell my brother until last night, and Dad was informed today. I am riding to my high school tomorrow to purchase a yearbook for a friend. She didn't get one when we graduated, and I figured I would. I told you about the yearbook before, but the trip is new to you (I think). Anyway, I will be leaving in the morning and making the journey. That's why my brother and I were on Google Maps last night. We began looking for the shortest distance to get there, and then got sidetracked with the street view.

Since I have already delivered in Sinking Spring this week, I will be taking a few miles off the actual trip. I was planning on delivering on my way to the school, and then taking the short way back. But now I can take the short way in both directions.

It has been nearly eight years since the last time I was there. The last time I was there was to get my copy of the yearbook. I had ordered one and was asked to pick it up at the school. Anyway, it really makes you wonder. How have I changed in the last eight years. For one, I am no longer the 115-pound stick kid that graduated as salutatorian. I still live in my parent's house, but for three of those years my parents weren't there. I don't think I am as dependent on others as I was back then.

The reason for keeping quiet about it was because I didn't want people trying to talk me out of it or offering to take me. It is the first step in my mission to gain the courage to go visit Brittney when it warms up for vacation. If I can go to the school, then it should give me the boost I need to finalize plans for my stay in Columbus in the Spring.

So that's that. I am off to play Grand Theft Auto IV. I hope to see you around the forums, and until then...

Later!

Michael
