The Michael Swayne Story V: King of his Castle

I am not used to riding my bike so much.

As I was heading out the door to go to work this morning, my brother asked, "Are you leaving for work right now?" I said yes, and he said since he has to go to town anyway, he would take me to work. When I got there, I began working almost immediately. The first thing I did was lock the office back up and walk over to the store for a soda. I like to buy a large Orange Crush from the soda fountain there. Mainly because I don't get charged tax when I go. Being a regular customer has its perks. But seriously, I am probably the only person who uses the soda fountain; so they probably don't charge me tax because they've had the soda in there so long.

Anyway, I worked the entire time I was there, except for bathroom breaks. I worked and ate lunch at the same time. This week's paper is eight pages, with four of them in color. The only bad thing about it is that there is practically nothing in there worth reading. After all the ads were put in, there was enough space for four articles. And the trivia questions.

And then, the press was having problems with the FTP site, and I couldn't get the paper sent until 3:30pm today. Oh well, more money for me. I did some more work on the menu. I have to rework one ad, and then I can send it for proofing again. I will do that tomorrow after I finish my route. It won't take long.

I was asked to stop at Grandma's today on my way home. Why? Because Dad wanted some Ranch dressing to go with his salad. I didn't know that at the time, but if I did I wouldn't have stopped. I don't want to be used as a delivery service (if I am not getting paid for it).

Then this evening as I was getting some juice, the phone rang. I walked over to where Dad had the phone and answered it. I shouldn't have, because it was Floozy. I didn't even give her the chance to finish saying Hello (she says it long, like "Hellooooo"). She was about to start the "low" part, and I hung up. Then, I walked back into my room and returned to washing my shoes. Dad was outside, and the last time I check, nowhere on my body does it say I am Dad's secretary and that I have to bring him the phone whenever someone (especially Floozy) calls. Besides, it was cold and muddy and dark. I had just had a shower and didn't want to get dirty.

The reason why I had just had a shower was because I attempted to put Luca's dog tags on her. I shouldn't have tried. It was so muddy, and she was jumping and carrying on that I had mud all over me. In the end, I failed at putting on the tags. I will try again when the mud either freezes again or dries up.

Tomorrow I am delivering papers. After my work is done, I will be heading home. Then, my plans are to edit and put together my next YouTube video. It will be posted on Friday. I also need to choose which pieces of poetry I will be putting in that book. The form hasn't moved from its spot on my desk since I received it.

Well, that's all for now. I hope to see you around the forums, and until then...

Later!

Michael
