I was nearly done with work this week, but then...

Today I woke up and got ready for work. I did so quietly, as to not interrupt Dad from his sleep. At 7:50am, I got on my bike and proceeded to go to work. It seems that Dad wondered where I had gone while I was gone. He told Grandma that, and she told me when I visited. I guess he was in need of some gas money, and he couldn't get any. Boo hoo for him.
I arrived at the office at 8:40am. I can't believe it took me so long. If I wasn't wearing such a bulky coat I would have been faster. My record is 35 minutes. I immediately started work. There were things in my tray, so I didn't want to mess around. And then, I got done with everything.
I built a Super Half ad today (slightly more than half a page). It had to be cleared through Misty, so I worked my hardest on it. And because I didn't have anything else to do, I made two versions of it. I am starting to be a real advertising person now. With my multiple versions for clients to choose from, and my attention to details and whatnot. But yeah, having two versions for Misty to choose from felt really good. And I only worked on them for 15-20 minutes.
After that, I just rearranged everything so it would fit. I had 3/8ths of one page left to fill, and then Gabby comes in and says that she just sold a full page ad in color to a car dealership. Out loud, I was all "good job"; in my head I was all "How dare you do that! I was so close to finishing the paper and now I have to rework everything to fill four more pages."
So, I have been going through the office Email since I got home. I will be putting in the library's news, the latest county commissioners meeting, the honor roll, the students of the month, everything that I could find to fill more space. Because let's face it. There will be very few ads to come in before I have to send the paper to press tomorrow. Maybe I should write an article about a certain local poet who is being featured in yet another national poetry anthology. Whatever takes up space, right?
In other news...
I won an eBay auction today. I bought Mario Party 7. I am also getting a microphone for it. I made bids for Mario Party 5 and 6, but I lost 6 and 5 is still open. I am hoping someone outbids me on 5 because I don't want that one now that I am getting 7. Also, my messenger bag was marked as shipped today. Yay! I am only days away from my new bag!
Tomorrow I am working at the office. After I finish the paper I will be working on the menu. Then I will send it for proofing again. If everything goes well, then I can relax for a little bit before I start the Easter brochure. I was told today that I will be getting my very own office soon, instead of having to work among the sales people. Which is great. I get nervous when I am finalizing the paper if there are people talking all at once. My head gets filled with voices and I can't focus. With an office away from everyone, I can work better. But that's in a few months.
While I am thinking about it, I should say that I did not get in trouble for the heart not showing up. It turns out that people in the area are really stupid and can't tell a heart from a four-leafed clover. They thought that a four-leafed clover with a person in it was a heart. Here's the picture I am talking about.
So yeah, stupid people prevented me from getting in trouble. That's cool. At least stupid people can read. But the heart that I put in the paper was there when I opened up the file. It just didn't get printed. It was one of the first things I did when I got to work this morning.
I don't have to worry about it this week, because there is an ad with an actual heart in it. Yay for not having to work as hard! Woo!
Anyway...
I should end for now. My brother is bored, so I will probably let him watch some YouTube videos. He should get his own account, because he is really screwing with my recommended videos page. Among all the DailyGrace, KPop, and Let's Plays are videos of RC cars pushing snow, burnout contests, and idiots getting their vehicles stuck in mud. I've tried to get him to watch my videos, but he won't. Of course, I would want him to watch it as either a guest, or on his own account. It would just be really lame if it shows up that I watched my own videos.
Well, I hope to see you around the forums, and until then...
Later!
Michael
