The Michael Swayne Story V: King of his Castle

I kept pedaling...

Wednesday and Thursday were filled with rain, and that has continued today as well. It is too bad, because I am supposed to mow the yard at the office today. And then there's the whole delivering in Sinking Spring that is supposed to happen today as well. I could go and ride the ten miles in the rain, but I really don't want to. If anything, I want to wait until the rain stops in order to do it, but I am not sure when that will be because it is supposed to rain all day.

Moving on...

The heat and humidity made me sick yesterday during my route. I was actually planning on mowing yesterday, but I got too hot. I have never liked mowing and delivering on the same day. Anyway, I sent a message to Iris saying that I was sick, and that I would mow on the next nice day. I stopped at the Dairy Bar for something to drink, and while I was waiting, the music they had playing were all songs featured in Fallout: New Vegas. After a few songs, I was expecting Mr. New Vegas to come on and say something. But he didn't. The whole experience was making me want to get out the game and play it. And I think I will. I have never gotten very far in the game before, so it will be nice to actually work on it. And if I don't play it, it kind of makes getting the DLC for the game a big waste of money. I may start it up today, since my original plans won't happen.

Oh, it looks like it is a new billing period for the Internet here. That's nice. Everything is loading much faster than before.

Wednesday night, Mom sent me a text message asking if I still had my Nintendo DS and the game TouchMaster Connect. She was wanting to borrow it and play it. Of course I had it, because I am not the type to sell a video game. I took the game, system, and charger with me to Peebles yesterday and gave it to Mom to play. I told her while we folding the papers together that if she wanted to play anything else, she just had to ask.

Mom, Macie, and I walked to Ace Hardware yesterday, and I bought a plastic pool for Luca. Then we took it to my brother's truck, since he already agreed to take it home for me. Luca looked so happy when I showed her. I just hope she actually uses it for its intended purpose. I don't have it filled with water yet, because I wanted to wait until today to do it.

As I passed Grandma's yesterday, I saw that my Uncle, Grandma, and Dad were mowing the yard there. I just did what I always do, and rode by with my head facing in front of me and I kept on pedaling. I think I saw Grandma wave to me in the corner of my eye, but I can't be sure. A bit further down the road, I was climbing up one of the big hills. Then Dad went by and pulled into the nearest driveway. And I kept pedaling. He called out and asked if I wanted a ride, and I kept pedaling. As he called me some name that I couldn't quite understand, I kept pedaling. And as he drove by again, this time making it a point to rev his engine in an attempt to show that he was mad, I kept pedaling. He should have known that I wouldn't accept his assistance, especially since I was only two miles from home. It is just a waste of time after having already rode the other eight miles. Anyway, after Dad was out of sight, I called Mom and told her what happened. I figured that Dad would tell D, and D would tell Mom, and most likely Dad's story would be filled with lies (as they usually are). I wanted to make sure Mom got the truth first.

Well, the rain has stopped for the moment, so I am going to take advantage of it and deliver in Sinking Spring. I just have to get dressed and wait until the DLC for New Vegas has been re-downloaded. I have Dead Money and Old World Blues left in the queue. And if it is still not raining, I may try and go to Peebles to mow. Maybe I will get lucky and not be rained out. Well, that's all for now. I hope to see you around the forums, and until then...

Later!

Michael
