So, I just finished watching the 2014 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, and I was very impressed at the concert. I was also so happy when the results were announced and that Italy was named the winner. Italy was the only country represented by a male singer. There hasn't been a male winner since 2010, and then the sole male singer in a field of 15 female acts turns out to be the winner. Compared to other years, this year's competition was better than the other ones I have watched. I think there has only been one, maybe two, competitions that I haven't seen yet. Honestly, I feel that the stage may have been too impressive for most of the acts. You could tell that the Croatian act, as well as plenty others, was extremely nervous. The stage looked as if it was built primarily for the interval acts instead of the actual people competing. That is really my only complaint of the competition this year. While it was amazing, it just didn't have that closeness that one would expect to have at a children's competition. After all, these are not adult performers, and they aren't necessarily ready for such a daunting stage to perform at.
The third match of the Trophy Hunters League has ended, and I am sad to say that I lost this time. It seems that I am making a habit of having a gap of 6 points in these matches. The first matches were won by six points, and now I lost this third match by six points. The first break of the season has started, so now is the time to prepare for the next three matches. The problem is that I don't know how to do that anymore. Most of the games I have take a long time to reach the end. The competition really requires players to earn a lot of points quickly. I don't think I can do that, not with my current arsenal. Maybe I will get lucky and find a game that really clicks with me and causes me to want to play it non-stop.
It snowed early Sunday morning. If the story holds true, there will be 16 days of snow this cold season. And it is not wasting time getting those days out of the way. It has snowed all day today. I hate it. I was wanting to go to the store in Sinking Spring and get some things, but I'm not going out in the snow just for shampoo. Not like I could go anyway, because I am pretty much broke when it comes to money. I have some cash here, but using it goes against the agreement I made to myself last month. You see, I saw a post on Facebook about a 52-week Money Saving Challenge. I read the article, and thought it would be a neat thing to do. So I found a can of coffee that was in the house. And after putting the expired coffee in the trash (there hasn't been coffee drank in this house once since I moved here), I taped the challenge paper that I printed out onto the can. Each week I will put an amount of money into the can, and the amount increases by $1 as the weeks go by. So far, I have put $10 into the can. Week 4 just started, so I am technically caught up. But I will put money into it whenever I have the amount available. I actually put the Week 3 and Week 4 amounts in last week, because I had $3 on Monday, and then $4 on Thursday. The end result is that by the end of next of the challenge, there will be $1,378 in the coffee can.
School was cancelled today, which is super nice. Yeah, right. I went from being driven crazy slowly, to hitting that crazy wall at full speed. It's like it falls on me to be these kids' entertainment. Their mother does nothing but talk on her cell phone and stalk people on Facebook all day, and always yelling at the kids. And although it may muffle the sound of their laughs and screams, keeping the door shut doesn't mute the noise.
The worst part is that these kids have no respect toward adults. Specifically, they do not know the meaning of a closed door. Instead of knocking and asking to come in, they wake me up super early in the morning and barge right in. And just 15 minutes ago, I wasn't able to use the bathroom in peace.
In the end, it further confirms my decision to not have kids. Ever. My brother and sister can do all of that, but this portion of the family tree is ending.
Well, I will end this entry for now. I want to try and preserve what patience I have left (if there's any left) by not thinking about anything. So, I hope to see you around the forums, and until then...
Later!
