A New Friend

This morning while I out delivering in Sinking Spring, I bought some air freshener for my room. Since it is nearly summer, I figured I should change its smell. And it's a good thing too, because my brother brought his smelly "girlfriend" here and it reeks now from where she has walked through the house. I feel bad for him, because it's not his fault that he can't smell. If he could, I think he would no longer be with her.
Anyway...
Dad was here for a few minutes. As usual, I gave him the same cold responses I always do when he tells me a bunch of stuff I have no interest in knowing. Like I really care that he finally got his driver's license. I don't ever have him take me places, so what good is him telling me. And telling me the same things I already know. He still hasn't realized that I am told things before him because I am more responsible and can prepare for events better than he can. He left, feeling as defeated as ever. After all, there is no point in him trying to make me want him to stay longer. He knows what will change my mind, and until he does those things I don't want to see him.
If you saw my Facebook activity today, I posted the finalized signature picture for the first round of the contest. For those that haven't seen it yet...
I know it's simple, and it isn't too different from the one I showed you a few days ago; but I think it looks nice. My favorite part is how I made it look like Serah was casting a spell. I submitted it this afternoon. The response from Facebook was positive, so I figured it was good enough for submission. I don't expect to win my match, because I have the least experience of editing compared to the others. I don't have any information on my opponent either, which is really unsettling. I know I said before that I have to rely on my own skill for this, but I would still feel better if I knew at least something of my opponent other than he entered so he could "dust off the cobwebs from photoshop".
In the event that I do pass, then the chance is high that two Michael's will be up against in each other for the next round. It also means that I would make it to the semi-finals as well (there's only nine people competing)! And if I lose, then I can say that I tied for 5th Place in my very first GFX Tournament. People don't need to know that there were only 9 people competing, so it would sound impressive.
There's also a chance that I could win my match by default. Though it's the second-worst way to win (cheating being the worst in my opinion), a win is still a win. I could always hope that happens, but I don't.
I am in 8th Place with 1,935 votes in Gaming King. The gap between the Top 10 and the other 75 competing is getting ever wider. I think it may be safe to say that I will remain in the Top 10 this time. I am also glad that I have remembered to upload a video each day during the election cycle. I forgot to put yesterday's video in the blog post, but it's right there on my channel if anyone is interested in watching it. It was a special episode featuring a song from RWBY. It is special because the song isn't a ranked song yet. Though I don't get points for it, I will be quite prepared for the song when it does get ranked.
I logged onto Skype today for the first time in a month or so. While I was tutoring Joey, I received a random message. A fellow TFFer started chatting with me. He is FFMQFanSince92. He's not very active, but he's really interesting to talk to. He's into older games, and knows a lot about them. We have been chatting since I finished tutoring.
Tutoring today was just a review day. I am trying to do new lessons two of the three days, and reviewing on the third day. Like one day I would work on his spelling and pronunciation, the next would be his mathematics, and the third would be to review to make sure he hasn't forgotten due to summer's brain drain. But today Joey was more interested in playing games and trying to weasel out of staying for the full hour. And not the educational games that I have to make out of the blue now because I am running out of ideas that would keep his attention. Anyway, he did manage to count to 114 by himself without my help. Normally, he forgets the 30s and just goes to the 40s. This time he got through them alright.
Tomorrow I going to do laundry, maybe. If my brother doesn't swoop in and wash his. He has run the washer three times this week. He may not have a lot of clothes, but he definitely has more than three days worth. And I can't just go and wash mine while he's sleeping, because the washer is on the other side of the wall where he has his head when he sleeps. Other than that, I am going to make an attempt at completing Final Fantasy XIII. And it will probably result like the other attempts: play five minutes and quit. I guess it's a good thing I don't play video games for a living. If I had to finish a game by a certain date, I would never get one finished.
Well, that's all for now. I hope to see you around the forums, and until then...
Later!
Michael
