What I'm playing...

It's been a busy time lately, and there hasn't been much time left over for gaming. Usually, I don't play anything console-wise until after 11:30am. That gives me time in the mornings to do my chores and anything else I need to do for the day. The only day I turn on a console before that time is Sunday. Usually. If I finish early, and there is nothing to do, then I may start playing sooner. Or if I want to continue whatever I was playing the night before. Afternoons and evenings are not the best time to play anymore, with the chance to work with Larry Joe being high. And when I finish working with him, I usually feel too tired to play anything. As always, Thursday is a no play day. I just feel to drained to play after my route.
Anyway...
I have been playing a lot of BioShock this week. I wasn't really a big fan of the series after not doing so well with BioShock Infinite back when I bought it, but the first game in the series is really neat. And maybe it was because I was playing them out of order that made me not have a lot of interest in it. I bought BioShock on PSN during one of their sales. I paid $4.99 for it, and I am glad I bought it. Right now, I am at the part right after saving the trees with the Lazarus Vector. It doesn't seem like too difficult a game, at least when it's on the Easy difficulty level.
Other PS3 games I'm playing include: Watch_Dogs, Life is Strange, Samurai Warriors 4, and Tales of Xillia.
As for the Vita, I have been sinking a lot of time into Run Sackboy! Run!. I just want to complete the trophy list as soon as I can, because I am so close to it. I have one trophy left, and to earn it, I need to have at least 10 costumes for Sackboy. Costumes can be purchased with bubbles earned during the run, or by purchasing bubble with money on PSN. I will admit to buying some, but they weren't for costumes. I bought bubbles in order to help me earn the gadget upgrade trophy. Anyway, I need a total of 350,000 bubbles in order to buy the two cheapest remaining costumes, and I will have the final trophy. Right now, I am at 47,713 bubbles. So, just 306,287 bubbles left to get. If I am in the mood to play it for a while, I can usually get at least 1,000 bubbles per run. But that is just so many bubbles!
Other PSVita games I'm playing include: My Singing Monsters, Mortal Kombat, Wake-Up Club, and the recently purchased Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends - Complete Edition.
Now, if you are an attentive reader of this blog, you are probably saying to yourself, "I thought Michael wasn't going to buy any more games". Yes, I did say that. And then the money starts burning a hole in my virtual pocket, and I succumb to the desire to add to my collection. I am up to 515 games now. I do my best to not buy games, but then PSN has a super sale, and I end up getting 5 or 7 games for the price of 1 physical copy.
One thing that will help me not buy games as often is the fact that I can play my PSP games again. I couldn't find my charger for the longest time, and I ended up spending $3.99 on eBay for a new charger. So now, I can play Dissidia: Final Fantasy and the PSP Star Ocean games again! Yay!
My 3DS has mainly been a pedometer. The only time I have it is on Thursday when I go on my route. And the YouTube app comes in handy when I'm folding papers. But other than that, I don't play it. And that's sad, because I have all those games for it, and I don't play them at all.
Moving on...
I'm still competing in the Trophy Hunter's League on psnprofiles.com. Season 8 is almost over, with the 8th match of the season ending in under three hours. I am doing okay this season, with me currently in 6th Place in the Bronze League. Here's how I've performed throughout the season, to recap you on everything.
Season League Win Loss Score 3 Bronze 6 3 362 4 Gold 0 9 51 5 Silver 3 6 182 6 Bronze 4 5 196 7 Silver 2 7 135 8 Bronze 4 3 113
It seems like my home league is Bronze, having spent 3 of my six seasons there. And there is a chance that I will spend Season 9 there as well. And it's fitting, since 77 of the 85 trophies I've earned this season have been Bronze. There have been matches where I only earn Bronze trophies. It's even become a common term among the league. "Pulling a me3lingual" means earning only Bronze trophies during a match.
My goals for this season were to defeat the two players I've gone against before, freddie1989 and man_with_wdjat. Against freddie1989, I'm now 1-2; winning the match this season. And my final match this season will be against man_with_wdjat, who I am currently 1-2 with. I'm looking to even up the score. The only other goal I had for this season was to score enough points to avoid being put on the purge list. If you score less than 120 points in a season, you are asked to reconfirm your place in the competition. If you fail to do so, you are removed from the roster. I don't want to have to decide. I don't really care where I end up on the rankings list, because I quite like the Bronze League. There isn't as much pressure to perform well as there is in the other Leagues. After all, there is no League lower than Bronze (for 2 seasons there was Manganese, but that's been discontinued). So, as long as I score more than 120 points, I am happy.
New this season was that I was also picked to be the substitute scorekeeper. I have only been called in three times this season to count. Once for the Bronze and Silver Leagues, and twice for the Platinum and Gold Leagues. It's not as fun as I would have hoped for. Mainly because there are people that go crazy with earning trophies. I think that it would be easier if I was counting each match, because then I could keep track more. But with being the substitute, I only have to count once in a while. I don't have the prior knowledge of what they played before.
Anyway...
That's about it for this entry. I have some bubbles to earn, so I should probably get back to doing that. So, until next time...
Later!
Michael
