Hmm...
I say that I will try and post more.
But then when I go to type an entry, the words don't reach my fingers. It's like the get lost along the way from my brain to my hands. And then when I do start typing, the Internet is so slow that the letters don't all get put on the screen at once, and I have to go back and spellcheck everything. For example:
"Once upon a time there was princess who couldn't stnd sleeping on anyhin other ta featherbeds."
When in reality, I typed:
"Once upon a time, there was a princess who couldn't stand sleeping on anything other than feather beds."
It's all really annoying.
Anyway...
So, I will just get the big news out of the way. I'm not moving to Florida in July. No, the big journey has been pushed back until January. Carma's job won't be ready until then, due to some legal thing between the EPA and Interstate Batteries. The details are quite boring, so I shall spare you. Honestly, I am glad. The part of me that doesn't want to go will get more time here. I will be able to save up more money, and be able to survive there for a bit longer than with the $400 or so I was originally planning on having. I will be able to reach my ninth anniversary working at the newspaper.
I am not the only one glad about this recent development. Iris was quite happy that I wouldn't be leaving so soon. She will get to put off finding my replacement for six months, and she will have her tutor around when it comes time to start her Statistics class.
Speaking of classes, I guess I should tell you that I'm enrolled at the community college in Hillsboro. I applied way back before the Florida thing was a thing. I was even in the process of scheduling the placement tests when Carma offered the Florida move. Anyway, when it happened, I put schooling out of my mind. I figured I would just start it after the move. Now, I can maybe get a semester in, and transfer when we move. The only downside is the financial aid bit. It will be a bit more difficult to find funding now than it would have been two months ago. But maybe I can negotiate something with the school. Maybe some of my scholarships are still active. Who knows?
I am making an effort in getting caught up in my 365-Day Money Saving Challenge. I hit a bit of a snag when I had to buy a pair of shoes. And it didn't help when I spent nearly $60 at the pawn shop on video games I "just had to have." I have traded in the coffee can for a savings account at the bank, and I have even earned my first penny of interest with it. As for the Challenge, I am up to April 21, 2015. Yes, I know I'm a month behind. But I am working on fixing that.
Work is going well. My check is now $85 when I mow at the office. I was rained out this weekend, so it will be the normal $70 this Thursday. I still work with Larry when I can. Having Joey with me during the week really limits the time I work with Larry, but Larry makes up for it by working me all day on Saturdays. Except this past Saturday, when the rain prevented that as well. My work as a mTurk is practically dried up. I can't earn money online if the Internet speed won't allow it. I still earn money with InboxDollars, but that is too slow as well, though in a different way. I can only get paid when I earn at least $30, and it takes a while to do that.
School ends in three days, and then I will have Joey 24-6. I am so excited. Really, really, really excited. I love Wednesday nights so much now! I get the house to myself, and I truly relax then. And now that the papers don't arrive until 7am, I even get to sleep in a couple more hours. But I don't like the amount of cars on the road in the 5 o'clock hour. I may get my pillows and a blanket from the storage unit, and leave them at the office. That way I can still leave at my safe 3am, and also sleep a couple hours in semi-comfort. Instead of an uncomfortable shelf in a shed.
What else is there? Stri-P-Grr had kittens! Which makes me kind of a great-grandfather to little fuzzies. I've only seen one of them once, because they are deep in one of the barns here. I can't reach where they are.
Iris passed her math class. She overthought the problems and failed the final exam, but luckily her time with me allowed her other work make up for it. She finished with a C.
Season 8 of the Trophy Hunters League has started. I am back in Bronze for a third time. I hope I can earn enough points to score a promotion.
Well, that's all for now. I hope to see you around the forums, and until then...
Later!
Michael
