The big news of the day is that I finally received the refund for my broken bicycle. I contacted the customer service people, who said that I had already been sent the refund. They were kind enough to "re-send" it. I never got it, or I would have a new bike by now. Anyway, I got the e-giftcard and made an order for a new bike.
It is exactly like my other one, except in burgundy. I saw that they also had it in blue, but it didn't come with a basket and was $40 more expensive. And then there were 3-wheelers with baskets. But those were way out of my price range. I even consider the Panama Jack model with a cooler and raised rear rack, but it was also too expensive. In the end, I like the one I chose. I also made sure to purchase the 2-year warranty. If it gets me a new bike if/when it breaks, $19 is worth it. All I had to pay was for this new bike was $23.57. Which is the price of the warranty, the shipping cost ($2.97), and $1.60 for the amount that remained because of the tax increase this year.
Moving on...
I was right about what I'd come home to when I wrote that about Mom yesterday. When I walked in my bedroom, the whole room had been cleaned. And now I am lost. The only good thing that resulted is that I can now put my bike in my room and not have to walk around it. I plan on putting my new bike in here when it arrives. But still, I knew Mom was going to do that. She is so predictable, even after four years of not seeing her.
The route today was cold. There was an extra bundle of papers when everything was separated. When I messaged Iris about it, she acted as if she didn't believe me or something. She said that there were extras last week, which I know is not true. I feel as if I am being set up. It wouldn't be the first time the management has done something like this to an employee. It is usually how they get rid of people. Make them screw up so they can fire them instead of having people quit. I mean, if there was an issue with distribution last week; why wasn't it brought to my attention then while I was there helping out with the computers? It all seems a bit shady, and I don't like it.
I found an ushanka today on the side of the road while riding home from Grandma's this afternoon. It was in pretty nice condition, so I took it home. For those that have no idea what I am talking about, this is an ushanka...
The one I found in particular is black with charcoal gray faux fur. The inside is lined with polyester. I feel bad for the person who lost this hat, but it will keep my head warm now.
Well, that's all for now. I hope to see you around the forums, and until then...
Later!
