Did some of my family's prowess with mechanics rub off on me?

Yesterday, I finished Nier. I hadn't played it for a few days, because of the daunting task that is material farming. So I made the decision to just finish the story, see the fourth ending; and thus, get my reward. I earned the trophy for seeing Ending D, and therefore had my save files deleted. Despite seeing my work of nearly 60 hours disappear before my eyes (it literally shows each journal entry and tidbit being erased), I was not sad to see it leave. The story required that the other characters forget Nier, and I was treated the same way. Anyway, I started working on a review for the game. It will be the first review I have written in months. I have already written two paragraphs, and I am sure there will be several more.
After Joey came home from school, we played his file of Sly 3. He has nearly caught up with me, because I managed to get him through the Holland boss fight. So now we are both in China. He is only a couple missions behind me. I am going to probably work on my file before he comes home today. I don't want him to catch up. Not that it really matters, because I will end up being the one who completes the missions for both files.
And before I went to bed last night (rather, 3am this morning), I restarted my save file of Fallout: New Vegas. I restarted because I felt I didn't distribute the skill points correctly last time. The way I did it a couple days ago was so much different than what I usually do that it felt foreign and unpleasant to me. I wanted to try and be different, electing to focus on one specific skill. But I couldn't stay with that decision, and restarted just so I could give each skill an equal amount of points. The remaining skill point going to one skill that had more than others. It is my way combining the two ways I wanted develop my character. I also printed out a list of the Blue Star Cap locations, and found two already. I also pickpocketed six from that guy who came running toward me just to tell me about the star caps.
Yesterday morning after coming back from Sinking Spring, Carma asked me to put together the weed eater she bought. And somehow I was able to do it. I guess I do have some mechanical skill after all, and the ASVAB test I took in 11th Grade wasn't wrong. Or maybe I am able to understand written directions. The diagrams didn't help though. Anyway, when I got done, Carma said that she wanted the head she bought put on it. I haven't done that yet, because I think it nullifies the warranty if I do. I will check the warranty information in a bit just in case.
Well, that's it for now. I hope to see you around the forums, and until then...
Later!
