The Michael Swayne Story V: King of his Castle

Another day, another petty argument.

So today I was once again told that I am lazy by Dad. Well, I wasn't told that to my face. Dad waited until I left the room. And since I heard what he said, I went back in the room to defend myself. I should point out that he called me "that lazy a-word". Anyway, when I went back in I said, "Well, this lazy butt is working and earning money, unlike you." Then, I walked back out, and stood outside of the room to make sure he didn't say anything more. And he didn't say anything after that.

It felt so good to put him in his place today! He couldn't argue with me, because I spoke the truth. You see, this morning he came in my room all nice and chipper and said, "Hi!" And as most of you probably know, when someone who is normally never super happy when in your presence acts that way, they almost always want something. I replied with a hello of my own, knowing full well what he wanted. It wasn't that hard to figure out, really. All I have is my bike, my video games, and money. Dad asked to borrow $20 so he could get gas for his truck. I said sure, and handed him the money. I then immediately went to my calendar and marked that he owed me another $20. This way, it will serve as a reminder to the both of us that he now owes me $52.67.

And normally, whenever I lend someone in my immediate family money, I always end up regretting it later in the day. Why? Because they always feel they have to be mean to me in return. What caused him to be mean to me today? His place at the table was messy when it was time for dinner today. He said that I should have washed the table when I washed the dishes. But here's the thing...

I washed the dishes yesterday. He ate at the spot three times since I washed the dishes. He thought I washed the dishes today, and deliberately chose not to wash the table. He dirtied the table and because he was too lazy to clean up after himself, he tried to turn it all on me.

But yeah, my day was wonderful up until Dad became a jerk for no actual reason. Seriously, the things he comes up with. It is really funny. The way I see it, if you choose to slop food off your plate and miss putting what's on your fork in your mouth, you should clean up your own spot yourself. I should not have to clean up after a 46-year-old man that eats like a messy toddler. He has basic motor functions, opposable thumbs, and access to wash cloths, soap, and water. He is perfectly capable of washing up his spot of the table. I don't expect anyone to clean up after me. I don't tell Dad that if he is tired of seeing my slightly messy room then he should clean it. So why should I clean up after him.

Anyway...

I found a program on my computer that records my computer screen. This is great, because it makes it so much easier to record myself playing PC games. I have already recorded the next episode of Boonka. I still have to make the commentary, because I forgot to select the "Record Audio and Microphone" button. I didn't realize that until after I made the video. I held my mic in my hand for the entire length of the video and talked into it without knowing that it wasn't recording anything. Now, I don't have to sit my webcam on top a bunch of books and point it at my screen to record. So, things are good.

I played a little more of Star Ocean: TtEoT today. I am a little confused about those hauler beast things. I can't get the hang of the controls. And those black knights near Airyglyph are nearly impossible to defeat. I tried to do some grinding, but it didn't work too well.

Well, tomorrow I am working on completing the menu. I am not sure if Dad will be taking me in to town. He didn't even say good night to me this evening. Not that I actually need him to drive me to work. I just haven't checked the weather and don't know if riding tomorrow morning is a good choice or not. One sec...

Other than a 40% chance of rain, the ride should be possible. It will also be warmer than it has been lately, which is great. If I do ride, I will have to pack some extra clothes. I hate having to go the whole day with a wet hind end. And I may ride my bike to further prove that I don't need Dad for nearly as much as he thinks.

Also, it won't make him think that he shouldn't have to pay me back the money he owes. After all, if his "business" doesn't pick up this week, I will have to pay the end-of-month bills. A $200+ electric bill, a $40-60 water bill, and the next phone bill (which Dad still hasn't completely paid his part of). What baffles me is that with his work as it is, he wants to get satellite television again. He can't even afford his share of the bills, and he wants me to offer my credit card information so he can watch racing, MMA, and football?!?!? I could afford it if necessary, but why should I sign a contract for something that I won't even be using? I can watch anything I want on my computer, and all it costs me is about $26 (service + virus protection) each month.

I am rambling, and getting aggravated, so I will move on.

I think I will buy some clothes this week. I need some new pants, socks, and stuff. I also have to get some more laundry detergent. No one told me that we were almost out, and I used the last of it yesterday with my clothes. And I also need to get milk and bread. I may have to do my shopping in shifts. Or maybe will realize he's being a baby and finally grow up. It just kills him that I am more responsible than him.

Anyway, that's all for now. I will stay online for a while, but sleep is beckoning. I hope to see you all around the forums, and until then...

Later!

Michael
