77 miles

No, that is not the amount of miles I rode on my bike today. I only rode 22 miles today. 77 miles is the distance between me and my PS3. It is in a suburb of Columbus (Grove City) at the FedEx place. So, there is a high probability that I will have it tomorrow. I am so happy!
Anyway...
The route today was rough. It snowed the entire time I was in town. And it wasn't the fluffy kind of snow like what we have had the rest of the winter. It was tiny flakes that were more like icy needles that were constantly stabbing my eyes. It was physically painful riding today. No matter which direction I was riding, the snow was hurting me and made it difficult to see. I have a pair of goggles to cover my eyes and prevent it from happening, but I wasn't going to waste time for them to not fog up. So, I took the pain.
The other thing today was that I had to separate 2000 papers instead of the normal 1000. Larry and Freda got 500 for their route, Pam got 400, and I got what was left except for 191. That was what we had left over. Since the business routes were already doubled, and my residential route was already finished, I couldn't put these extra papers with anyone. So they are just sitting in the office.
And with more papers comes more time it takes to deliver them. I finished at 11:30 am. I am technically not finished because I have the Sinking Spring papers to deliver in the morning, but you already knew that. Anyway, I can't complain. I am back to delivering my full route, and getting paid my full amount.
I still think it is odd that I get paid more to deliver the papers than I do to actually make the paper. Even if I were to get that extra dollar per hour I was supposed to get a couple months ago, I would still earn more delivering. I earn roughly $10.83 per hour to deliver the newspapers ($65 for what takes me six hours), and only $5 per hour to make the paper. NOTE: As we are considered self-employed independent contractors, and don't get taxes taken out of our checks, we (I, since everyone else is commission only) don't get minimum wage. Which is fine with me because the way I see it, money is money. It just seems weird, that's all.
U and I took a nap this afternoon. I was really tired, and so I picked U up and carried him to bed with me. He started on my chest, and ended up stretched out next to me. The little bed hog will one day kick me out of bed.
I was bored after dinner, so I was watching random YouTube videos. I learned the Cup Song from the Pitch Perfect movie (it is a movie, yes?). It wasn't hard. Must be all the rhythm gaming I do, it makes things like the cup song easy. When Dad and my brother came in, they watched me do it.
Moving on...
Tomorrow I am delivering in Sinking Spring. Then I will wait patiently for the FedEx person to arrive. I hope the person doesn't come to the house while I am gone. I am worried about the person delivering it to the wrong house. It wouldn't be the first time that's happened. The UPS man delivered my first computer to someone else. Luckily, they were nice enough to bring it to me instead of keeping it for themselves.
Well, that's all for now. I hope to see you around the forums, and until then...
Later!
Michael
