And here goes, everyone. The second part of this Duel.

Guess That Card!

Chapter Six: Time's Up! The Reason Behind Her Insanity.

This is the first time in my life.....that I actually became afraid of dying. Without her parents around, no one has been around to teach Riddel the extent and the fine line between right and wrong. James and John are only her employees. Oh, Leon. Please win this!

-----

The Duel continues, and it was still Leon's Main Phase 1.

Leon
LP: 8000
Cards in hand: 5

Susa Soldier
EARTH/Thunder
Level 4 Spirit
ATK 2000/DEF 1600

Riddel
LP: 8000
Cards in hand: 4

Naturia Cosmobeet
EARTH/Plant
Level 2 Tuner
ATK 1000/DEF 700

Leon: Make me cry? What's that pipsqueak going to do? -thinks- Maybe you're just trying to distract me so I don't attack your face-down monster!

Riddel: -rolls her eyes- If you really think so, why don't you try to attack him?

Leon: Don't play games with me! -holds up a Spell Card- I'll equip my Susa Soldier with the Sword of Kusanagi! -points at Riddel's face-down monster- Entering Battle Phase!!

Leon's hand: 5 --> 4

Leon: Susa Soldier, attack her face-down monster with your Lightning Blade!!

With electricity surging through the blade, Susa Soldier strikes down Riddel's face-down monster....a Naturia Cliff.

Naturia Cliff
EARTH/Rock
Level 4
ATK 1500/DEF 1000

Riddel: Oh, all you did was help me search for a monster. You see, Naturia Cliff allows me to summon a Naturia monster from my Deck that is Level 4 or below when it's destroyed.

Leon: Not before you feel the sting of my Sword of Kusanagi! Because when my equipped monster destroys another by battle, the difference between points is subtracted from your Life Points if your monster was weaker, even if he was in Defense Mode!

Riddel: Huh?!

Riddel's LP: 8000 --> 7500

Leon: But that's when my Susa Soldier's negative effect comes in. He may be one of the strongest Level 4 monsters in the game, but any damage he inflicts is cut in half.

Riddel: Now that we're done with that, I'll continue with Naturia Cliff's special ability! So I'll summon Naturia Ragweed in Attack Mode!!

Naturia Ragweed
EARTH/Plant
Level 3
ATK 1200/DEF 2000

Leon: -enters Main Phase 2- I'll just lay this one card face-down. -as he does so-

Leon's hand: 4 --> 3

Leon: Since it's the end of my turn, my Susa Soldier's mandatory effect comes in. He has to return to my hand. And while Equip Cards are normally sent to the Graveyard when their monster is removed from the field, my Sword of Kusanagi can also come back to my hand!

Leon's hand: 3 --> 5

-----

Sarah: I never did like Leon's choice of monsters.

Valkyrie: I can see why. Spirit monsters always return to the hand, leaving their master vulnerable to attack.

Sarah: And Leon's wide open.

Valkyrie: I would not lose hope so easily. If his Deck was built by the shopkeeper, he must have had access to many different Spells and Traps to balance the Spirits' negative effects. His face down card is most likely something that will defend him in this turn.

-----

Riddel: My move now. -draws-

Riddel's hand: 4 --> 5

Riddel: My Cosmobeet isn't going to make you cry directly, but he's going to be the reason you will! I'm going to tune my Naturia Ragweed and my Naturia Cosmobeet! Now that their Levels add up to 5, I can summon a Level 5 Synchro Monster.

Ragweed and Cosmobeet disappear from the field, but in their place appears a monster in the form of a tiger, covered in some leaves.

Naturia Beast
EARTH/Beast
Level 5 Synchro
ATK 2100/DEF 1800

Leon: Well, guess what?! I'm revealing my Quick-Play Spell Card, Book of Moon! It flips any monster on the field into face-down Defense position, and I'm targeting your monster!

-----

Sarah: Alright! Her new monster will be defenseless to Susa Soldier!

Valkyrie: You're wrong.

Sarah: Huh?

Valkyrie: A Naturia monster is never to be underestimated. Especially a Synchro monster.

-----

Riddel: Hold on! I'll activate my Naturia Beast's special ability! By sending the top two cards of my Deck to the Graveyard, I can negate any Spell card you play!!

Using the power of the two top cards from the Deck, Naturia Beast is able to ward off the effect of Book of Moon, and destroys it.

Riddel: Naturia Beast, show him you're not to be messed with!

Naturia Beast made a great leap against Leon. Although afraid, Leon was quick to make his move.

Leon: Hold on! Since you declared a direct attack, I can summon my Battle Fader!

The diminutive Battle Fader makes its entrance, pushing Naturia Beast back.

Leon: When I summon Battle Fader like this, I can also end your Battle Phase!

Leon's hand: 5 --> 4

Riddel: -entering her Main Phase 2- Fine. But now you've made me a bit angry. I'll Normal Summon my Naturia Pumpkin!

Naturia Pumpkin
EARTH/Plant
Level 4
ATK 1400/DEF 800

Riddel: And since you have a monster on the field, I can activate my Naturia Pumpkin's special effect! I can summon another cute Naturia critter from my hand!

Naturia Beetle
EARTH/Insect
Level 4
ATK 400/DEF 1800

Riddel's hand: 5 --> 3

Leon: What's the point of having two weak monsters?

Riddel: You be quiet, I'm not done! -winks- Where was I? -giggles- Right. I will Overlay my two monsters, so now I can build the Overlay Network!

A black hole appears on Riddel's side of the field, as Naturia Pumpkin and Naturia Beetle are absorbed in it. In their place appears a great black ship, with its greatest feature being a massive number 50 on its sail.

Riddel: This is my Xyz Summon! -as the Number 50 flashes on her beret- Number 50: Black Corn!!

Number 50: Black Corn
DARK/Plant
Rank 4
ATK 2100/DEF 1500
Overlay units: 2

-----

Sarah: Another Xyz Summon?

Valkyrie: -surprised- Not just that!! It's a Number card!!

Sarah: -squints her eyes- You know, if you don't let me in on this stuff, it really makes you seem like you're making a mountain out of an anthill.

Valkyrie: Would you please focus here?! All Number cards have the innate ability of being invulnerable to other methods of destruction! They have to be destroyed by another Number card!

Sarah: What?!! Leon doesn't have any!!

Valkyrie: Then this would be the best time to pray. Pray for a painless death.

Sarah: -grabbing her stomach in pain- Yeah...not gonna happen!!

-----

Leon's hand: 4 --> 5

Leon: -making his draw- I'm not giving up just yet, you hear me?

Leon looked at his hand. He had Otohime, Inaba White Rabbit, Susa Soldier, Sword of Kusanagi, and his drawn card, Mausoleum of the Emperor.

Leon: -thinking- My Battle Fader ain't gonna last long on the field. I just have to play defensively. And Otohime can help me! Okay, Riddel! I'm only gonna lay a monster face-down and end my turn!

Leon's hand: 5 --> 4

Riddel: -draws- Really? Is that all you're going to do?

Riddel's hand: 3 --> 4

Riddel: I thought I should let you know that my Naturia Beast and Black Corn are my strongest monsters. If you get rid of them you'll pretty much have this match won.

Leon: Then that's what I'll do!

Riddel: There is a catch, though. My Black Corn can't be destroyed at all, except by a stronger Number monster.

Leon: What?!!

Riddel: Oh, and let me remind you that your Spell cards are useless, as long as Naturia Beast is on the field.

Leon: -thinking- I don't have any Numbers, and I can't use my Spell cards! What am I going to do? Hang in there, Sarah! I'll find a way!

Episode 4 Review

Sarah: -grabbing her stomach in pain- Ugh. Oh, hi everyone. I'm Sarah.

James: And I'm James.

Sarah: So, James. What do you do?

James: I serve the Mirai family with great honor.

Sarah: So that's Riddel's last name?

James: There is little I know about them, so I do not know the credibility of their words.

Sarah: I hate to say you're doing a bad job, and that's too bad. You're a great fellow.

James: Whatever do you mean?

Sarah: The lady you serve didn't turn out pretty well, did she?

James: Be that as it may, I am here to provide the preview for the next chapter. I know young Leon will give it everything he has.

Sarah: He has to! If not, it's curtains for me.

James: So join us on the next 2-chapter episode. I do say, I open to see you all then.
