Battle #3

Rate this Entry
Another battle in PO. I'm using my Sunny Day team this time around. Enjoy the match, it didn't take long. Exeggutor had the Chlorophyll ability, which doubles its Speed when there's sunlight. I made his Hidden Power a Fire type as coverage against other Grass types and Solarbeam KOs the Water types. Psychic takes care of the Fighting types. Exeggutor's my main man on this team, but I can also rely on my other Pokemon should I be surprised with a Bug type attack.

Haha good to see you took down that Magneton in the end. I really like weather teams and I'd interested in coming up with a Sandstorm based team. Hipowdon would be the lead with its Sandstream ability and Stealth Rock and Gliscor would have baton pass, substitute, rock polish and acrobatics. I think the rest would need a bit more though before I choose them. What made you choose the guys in your Sunny Day team, I see you covered Exeggutor's weaknesses really well.

It was a trip and fall process because I had other Pokemon on my team, but this is the team that's given me the most success. I ended up on the wrong tier simply because I had Raikou as my Electric type so I lost more often. I chose Electrode in the end because he's one of the fastest in his tier, and feels more at home with these guys. The Cyndaquil family have been my favorite Fire-type starters so I went with Typhlosion in the end. Sandslash serves as my coverage against Fire, Steel, and Electric types. He also has safeguard to ward off status effects, Swords Dance to power up his Earthquake, and Rapid Spin to get rid of entry hazards. Butterfree can be buffed with Quiver Dance, which covers Sp Attack, Sp Defense, and Speed. It has Roost to heal and has Hidden Power (Ground) in case I'm met with Electric resistance. Crawdaunt's there for Psychics, Ghosts, and everything weak against Water. Dragon Dance boosts his Speed as well as Waterfall and Crunch, and he's swept entire teams more than once after a few Dragon Dances. Typhlosion works best with sunlight because he's one of the handful of Pokemon who have Eruption, the strongest but also weakest Fire move in the game because its power depends on how high its HP is. But once I bring him out against Grass types and such, they have the option to fight or switch. But whatever hapens, they'll get a full-power Eruption to the face. Best part is that it never misses.

You might need something that has Sand Veil, which speeds up a Pokemon during a Sandstorm. Sandslash is one of those so you can look him u to see if he's what you need. You'll also need weather abilities. In your case, you need Pokemon that can resist the constant buffeting from Sandstorm. It does little damage each turn, but unless you have Leftovers it does add up. So it's something to consider.
