Posts about the general things going on in my life. School, work, the adventures of Connor the Curmudgeon Cat, etc.
Or as complete as it's going to get. Anyone I didn't already buy for is getting food lol. I'll probably make a ton of cookies or something to bring to work. And maybe rolls, since I can make those now. Does anyone else do themed gifts? Like this year pretty much everyone is getting movies or tv show seasons from me. It made sense at the time, seeing as I bought my mom and stepfather a Blu-ray player. They don't even have a DVD player in their living room. The living room with a large ...
So I was talking to one of my coworkers a few days ago. He's an artist, selling t-shirt designs, logo design and commissions for supplemental income when he's not working. Now, logically I know art is just like any of the, well, arts, in that doing it professionally is not easy. It's hard to shake that general societal image though. "Oh, he's just drawing." Bullshit like that. Get it with writing too, despite the fact that so many people these days are alliterate. But anyways, ...
Even if you're happy at your job (and especially if you aren't), you should keep an updated resume on hand. You never know what the future will hold, and you don't want to get stuck trying to rebuild your resume from scratch. Like me. My work experience hasn't changed, but just about everything else has. It probably doesn't help that I've ...
Yes, this is long overdue, but I've finally hit my breaking point at my job. So I'm doing the logical thing and will begin hunting for a new one soon. As in, tomorrow. Today I'm doing homework and cleaning and shit so I don't have to worry about it later. That and I should probably update my resume, which I haven't even looked at since 2008. Last time I thought about finding a 'real' job I was both depressed and put off by the fact that everyone wants a degree. I'm now in school working ...
Something that's helping me out a lot right now is the technique of pre-scheduling. Because sometimes just keeping track of deadlines isn't enough. Yes, I wasted an entire day playing Tokyo Jungle instead of doing things that needed to get done. In my defense it's also that time (ladies know), which makes me grumpy and generally sloth-like for 2-3 days. Thus slacking off majorly instead of actually keeping to "The Plan". To make up for it I have now pre-scheduled ...
