Digital Life

On games, gaming and life in the digital age.

  1. Tokyo Jungle Tips and Observations

Just some random stuff I've run across.

The easiest way to collect the archives is to unlock the horse as quickly as possible. Why? Because it's large and extremely fast. You can travel to any area in minutes if you've got the paths down. You can also outrun pretty much anything quite easily. It's not difficult at all to collect all three archives then sacrifice yourself to get the next story episode in less than five minutes. Or keep playing if you wish, I'm just impatient.

  2. Pre-Scheduling

Something that's helping me out a lot right now is the technique of pre-scheduling. Because sometimes just keeping track of deadlines isn't enough.

Yes, I wasted an entire day playing Tokyo Jungle instead of doing things that needed to get done. In my defense it's also that time (ladies know), which makes me grumpy and generally sloth-like for 2-3 days. Thus slacking off majorly instead of actually keeping to "The Plan".

To make up for it I have now pre-scheduled ...
  3. It's a jungle...a Tokyo Jungle!

So I just downloaded Tokyo Jungle from the PSN the other day. It's a post-apocalyptic animal survival game. With dinosaurs. And I'm pretty sure there's a mammoth in there somewhere. So seeing as I have a weakness for games with animal protagonists (and dinosaurs), I just had to try it ...
  4. You know something that irritates me?

When people assume that because you have experience with a particular type of electronics, you must know everything about all of them. You know what they say about assumptions...

I just spent a thoroughly unproductive 45 minutes trying to figure out why my mom and stepfather's home surround sound theater system wasn't working. Funnily enough, they've had this thing for five years. It's been a useless dust gathering brick for that entire time period. For the sake of about ten feet ...

  5. Three Things

That's my productivity threshold. Completing three tasks as early as possible is what gives me the forward momentum to lead a productive day. The days when I ignore my alarm, sleep in and start the day in front of the computer are the days I am least likely to get anything done because of the failure to reach that threshold in a timely fashion.

That's what I've discovered from my current system so far. Still making adjustments and having a hard time with the whole morning routine ...
