So true! That is the main problem I have with the game. I have more than 50 hours logged in the save file, and I have probably actually played only 20% of that (or at least it feels like 20%). I like the story and everything, but you know it's too long of a cutscene when you can eat a meal and still be stuck in a cutscene when you get back.

Xenosaga Episode 1 turned me off because of the 20 seconds of walking into 20 minutes of cutescenes into 30 seconds of walking into 20 minutes of cutscenes into 20 minutes of cutscenes. I don't even own my Ps2 or games with it anymore so I can't even say I'll finish it one day lol. I did like the Battle System though.

Oh my, I had no idea. I don't ever use the What's New button, so this is news to me. I'm more of a Today's Posts kind of person.

I'm glad GTA finally arrived, the days seem to drag on forever when you're waiting for something exciting to turn up.

I have read that the manga goes into that more. But even that doesn't go too far into it.

Yeah, I agree the end of Hikaru no go didn't have sufficient closure, maybe it would have been better ending earlier... I mean, why did they finish it by introducing the Hokuto Cup tournament and then NOT continue that? The movie has the preliminary battles, but I was seriously bummed when they stopped there

Happy Birthday to your blog as well! I don't think our activity levels are that much different. You post in the forums more. Even when journals counted as posts, my journal was the main source of my posts. And besides, you had school and work to keeping you busy. So, it's alright that you blog isn't updated as often. When you did post, there was always a lot of interesting things in it.

Happy birthday to your Blog! 321 entries in a year is a pretty big commitment so props to ya.

It turns out my blog turned 1 a few days ago too... with only 29 entries, that's just over half an entry a week. That says quite a lot about your activity and mine.

That's similar to what the person in the video did. She provided examples of some strong female characters, but discredited them as being weak and even mocking attempts by the game companies at making such characters. She failed to mention the notable ones (Lightning, Laura from Unlimited SaGa, Konoko from Oni, Shion Uzuki, Yumi from Ape Escape 3, etc.) She could have mentioned the transformation for Yuna in both X and X-2 and how she was so meek in the first, but stronger and more independent in the second.

Not only that, she provided scenes from games that were out of context from the actual game. I have the video links in my gaming blog so you can see for yourself.

I felt the same way when I read an article about negative stereotypes in videogames. The author listed single examples of characters that she thought were a negative stereotypes (damsels in distress, like three characters from Street Fighter, etc), but didn't touch on characters who are the exact opposite, or at least what she considered would be a better alternative.

I'd find the link but it was pretty badly written to begin with.

I had finished 7 of the 17 main story quests, and about 50-60 sidequests finished (not including all of the Shivering Isles quests completed). It sucks because it also puts me back a day or two in the challenge. If I had just saved the town of Aleswell when I was right there with the scroll to un-invisible the town instead of going to bed I probably would have avoided the whole situation.

It's annoying when you lose your progress in a game, how far did you get through it before it died?

I haven't had a full playthrugh of FFX in years now becuase every time I get farther enough into the game, it either corrupts or gets saved over.

That's a real shame, although it's good to see that you're taking it in your stride.

Like Rowan said, maybe it wouldn't hurt to keep your options open and look into childcare or teaching?

From what i've read, it seems like you get along really well with kids. Perhaps maybe you would work with kids in a child care center or perhaps as a teachers aid in a primary school?

What about a Pokemon game? I can't remember which ones you own but if you just aim to beat the Elite 4 rather than completing your entire Pokedex it shouldn't take you too long.

Oh and congrats for completing your first step of the challenge, I couldn't even come close to beating that many games in 180 days.
