Yeah, that's because I told him I wouldn't do it. LOL. I got my LRs right before the NA release date. The FFX/X2s should be roughly the same. And another thing coming in May. The only think I don't like was that I paid for these things as soon as they were ordered. That was mind boggling. At least they're paid for, but I didn't want it all to come out all at once.

The weird thing is that this is the first time I have ever had trouble with ordering from the Square Enix store and Digital River. I hope that all of this stuff gets taken care of. I have Lightning Returns and Final Fantasy X/X-2 coming in a few weeks (hopefully), and then I'm helping KoFF out with something that's coming out in April.

Digital River just seems to take their money and run away with it. Weird service they're providing. I hope you get your game sooner than later.

There is a synopsis menu in the main menu that tells the story, but neither it nor the map had any indication of where to go or what to do. Thinking back on it, the character I was talking to before I turned off the game that time did say my party was to investigate the area more, since a new area had become accessible. I guess I just didn't investigate it closely enough. There weren't any newly accessible treasures that I hadn't gotten the first time. There's still one chest I can't open, but will probably be able to in the future.

All in all, the story is really nice. Like right now where I'm at, I truly feel for the characters, both playable and NPC.

Star ocean is renowned for having you pay attention to what people say. Its one of those games where if you are not paying attention, good luck finding out where to go. Thats my experience anyway. Especially with Second Story, so much backtracking...

Oh crap... I just had this delivered and it's sitting on my shelf. Is the game really that vague, or does it rely on you paying super attention to every little detail in every conversation?

You should pick it up again, Rowan. I figured out what to do. Or rather, I went through and fought a whole bunch of monsters again, then talked to every person on the planet again, and somehow lucked into the cutscene. Now, I am at a whole different world, and have a new member of my party.

I am currently stuck in Star Ocean: The Last Hope - International. It was late when I stopped playing, and I was nodding off when I finished the cut scene. So now I can't remember what it is I do now. I have wandered around the whole area again, including the newly-accessible area, and nothing is triggering a new scene. I am only ten hours in, and already I'm considering consulting a guide to learn where I go next.

Now I remember why I stopped playing.

I am still getting the hang of battling myself. It seems pretty straight forward to me, because I am only using Edge at the moment and letting Faize and Reimi do whatever. Make good use of the tactics menu in the menu screen. You can customize how the others act in battle. Performing blindsides are a bit annoying, but offer the best bonuses in my opinion. I would prefer earning extra Experience to extra Fol.

Other than that, if you get in a jam, use the Special skills you have tagged onto each character by using the L2/R2 buttons (or whatever the XBOX 360 configuration tells you). And also remember to use the Triangle button to open the menu during battle. I have only had to use items so far, and haven't explored the other options during battle.

I actually have this game, but never got into it. I have no idea why, because I usually love the star ocean series. Can you give any pointers/ tips to those playing it? Anything particular about the battle system that you need to keep in mind? I ask that because I think i remember the battle system to be rather frustrating, even early game.

As long as you can finish First Departure, you'll be fine.

There are ways to make it go quicker, it wasn't that bad. Maybe a day or two of just doing stuff for the Guild.

That's good, because I do need the 100,000 gold trophy as well. I'm not keen on side quests though.

You'll get really close to the 100,000 gold Trophy.

Good luck with the Thieves Guild Trophy, you have to do a lot of side missions, but it's fun to do them!

The Dark Brotherhood was probably the best storyline of Skyrim I feel, the 3 times I've done that story, I've enjoyed it every time.

All of the Elder Scrolls games are amazing. Takes awhile to understand it sometimes, especially in 4 but it's all around amazing. After playing 4 going into 5, it's really good. I loved the Shivering Isles, my favorite part of Elder Scrolls was that Expansion. Knights of the Nine quest quest Add on was pretty good too.

Of course you should get Oblivion. If you can, get the Game of the Year Edition. It includes the Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles expansions. I have completed both of the expansions, and really enjoyed them. And there is so much to do in the main game that I still haven't saved Cyrodiil from the dark forces. I am thinking of selling my copy of Skyrim so I can get the Legendary version. It looks like doing that would be cheaper than getting all of the DLC through PSN.

I've been looking into getting Skyrim, but it looks like all of the updated versions sold out over xmas and that's the one i'd like to go for.

Seeing you've played both would you recommend getting Oblivion in the meantime?
