It probably had Quick Feet, which increases its Speed by 50% when he's under a a status ailment. That's probably it.
Yeah.. I was wondering that too.. but the guy did make some alright plays, so I'm assuming it had a reason.
What use would a Jolteon have with a Flame Orb? Unless they can learn Switcharoo or something.
Yeah, thats basically why i pointed it out. Im not really too experienced with teiring, since I havent really played anything competitive. But still seems logical to only use anything lower if an UBERS team could be built around it.
It was the Ubers tier, so everything was all fair game. Not exactly proud of beating a mediocre team, but it wasn't too easy either >.>
He did pretty good taking his seemingly mediocre selection of pokemon into account
I'd recommend replacing Manaphy with balloontran, absorbs fire and earth power can cut through a fire pokemon like it's nothing, though Infernape/Blaziken could be a problem. Ho-oh learns Earthquake btw >_>
Like I said, Manaphy's there for Tail Glow. Its also the only option other than Groudon to KO the Fire types. The Ubers list wasn't so big and at the end of the day I'll go with preference. I also have a Sunny Day team that is led by Exeggutor, and that guy can sweep if given the chance. And I'm sure you've seen my Rain Dance team.
I mainly play OU DW because I HATE wifi rules. Seeing another persons team ahead of time is just BS imo. Really kills a strategy with Espeon for instance. I've made some pretty fun teams for all tiers though. My main interest was making mono-type teams that could kick ass. My psychic and flying teams actually ranked pretty high.
I only built my Ubers team today and it was fun. I tried other tiers too, but today I wanted to build a new team. And came up with this.
I assume he's referring to you playing ubers I played in ubers a bit, didn't really like it. I preferred Deoxys, though he's more of a glass cannon. Also, Manaphy on a sunny day team? WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!?!?
Mewtwo is perhaps the best Special Attacker in Ubers, and as you saw it only took two Calm Mind buffs to sweep an entire team. I was just trying him out in this battle as Groudon and Thundurus had proven their worth in other battles. Manaphy's there for Tail Glow and Water moves, Ho-Oh for more firepower (pun intended) and I just love how Arceus has different forms depending on the Plate it's holding, and I chose Dark for its immunity to Psychic attacks.
That's just disgusting. This is why we can't have nice things.
I just began about a month ago, and even though I've had my own share of ragequits I do love it when I overwhelm my opponents
Stop making me kinda wanna unretire from PO...
It was a trip and fall process because I had other Pokemon on my team, but this is the team that's given me the most success. I ended up on the wrong tier simply because I had Raikou as my Electric type so I lost more often. I chose Electrode in the end because he's one of the fastest in his tier, and feels more at home with these guys. The Cyndaquil family have been my favorite Fire-type starters so I went with Typhlosion in the end. Sandslash serves as my coverage against Fire, Steel, and Electric types. He also has safeguard to ward off status effects, Swords Dance to power up his Earthquake, and Rapid Spin to get rid of entry hazards. Butterfree can be buffed with Quiver Dance, which covers Sp Attack, Sp Defense, and Speed. It has Roost to heal and has Hidden Power (Ground) in case I'm met with Electric resistance. Crawdaunt's there for Psychics, Ghosts, and everything weak against Water. Dragon Dance boosts his Speed as well as Waterfall and Crunch, and he's swept entire teams more than once after a few Dragon Dances. Typhlosion works best with sunlight because he's one of the handful of Pokemon who have Eruption, the strongest but also weakest Fire move in the game because its power depends on how high its HP is. But once I bring him out against Grass types and such, they have the option to fight or switch. But whatever hapens, they'll get a full-power Eruption to the face. Best part is that it never misses. You might need something that has Sand Veil, which speeds up a Pokemon during a Sandstorm. Sandslash is one of those so you can look him u to see if he's what you need. You'll also need weather abilities. In your case, you need Pokemon that can resist the constant buffeting from Sandstorm. It does little damage each turn, but unless you have Leftovers it does add up. So it's something to consider.
Haha good to see you took down that Magneton in the end. I really like weather teams and I'd interested in coming up with a Sandstorm based team. Hipowdon would be the lead with its Sandstream ability and Stealth Rock and Gliscor would have baton pass, substitute, rock polish and acrobatics. I think the rest would need a bit more though before I choose them. What made you choose the guys in your Sunny Day team, I see you covered Exeggutor's weaknesses really well.
I pretty much get my build for my teams from Smogon so I'm no stranger to it. What you're seeing here is my Rain Dance team. Pelipper leads with Rain Dance, and if I suddenly face an Electric type, switching to Raichu always helps. Not only does its Lightningrod absorb an Electric attack, it also improves its special attack by one stage. And once Rain Dance is in play and I'm facing a Ground type, Pelipper becomes useful as well. Hurricane hits 100% of the time once Rain Dance s used. Everyone else is there to cover each other's weaknesses. Forretress has entry hazards to place on my opponent, has Earthquake to surprise any Electric type, and is also my Rapid Spinner. Misdreavus serves to avoid Rapid Spin from my opponent. Sawk KOs Normal tanks after a few Bulk Ups, and Ice Punch is great against the Dragon types. And finally, Rapidash becomes useful after absorbing a Fire attack with Flash Fire, and can hit a Ninetales hard during the sunlight. Oh, and to troll supportive Pokemon I have Misdreavus's Taunt. Since they are rarely given offensive moves, Taunt makes them completely useless.
Congrats on the win that was pretty interesting to read. Have you heard of the site Smogon? Its strategy pokedex is usually what I swear by when it comes to pokemon battling. They also have a setup simialr to PO when it comes to battling too although I've never taken part in one but it's still fun to watch others duke it out.
Yeah, crowds are not worth a few dollars off on prices x_x
